Turbocharger Removal

Remove the engine from the vehicle (see page RAV4_ACA30 RM0000019Y9004X.html).

Remove the 4 bolts and manifold converter insulator.

Remove the bolt, nut and No. 1 manifold stay.

Remove the 3 bolts and No. 2 manifold stay.

Remove the 2 bolts, nut and No. 2 exhaust manifold stay.

Remove the 3 nuts, manifold converter and gasket.

Remove the 2 bolts and insulator.

Using needle-nose pliers, grip the claws of the clip and slide the clip to disconnect the No. 3 water by-pass hose.

УКАЗАНИЕ:

Place a container under the connection before disconnecting the No. 3 water by-pass hose because water in the hose may spill out.

Using needle-nose pliers, grip the claws of the clip and slide the clip to disconnect the No. 2 water by-pass hose.

Place a container under the connection before disconnecting the No. 2 water by-pass hose because water in the hose may spill out.

Remove the 2 bolts and by-pass pipe.

Remove the 4 bolts, 2 gaskets and outlet pipe.

УКАЗАНИЕ:

Place a container under the connection before disconnecting the turbo oil outlet pipe because oil in the pipe may spill out.

Remove the 4 bolts.

Remove the 2 bolts, 2 nuts, EGR cooler, O-ring and 2 gaskets.

Remove the 2 bolts, 2 gaskets and oil pipe.

Remove the 2 nuts, 2 spacers and turbocharger stay.

Remove the 3 nuts, gasket and turbocharger.
