Fuel Injector Removal

  1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

  2. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE COVER

  3. REMOVE AIR CLEANER ASSEMBLY

  4. DISCONNECT ENGINE WIRE

  5. REMOVE INJECTION PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY

  6. REMOVE NO. 1 NOZZLE LEAKAGE PIPE ASSEMBLY

  7. REMOVE NOZZLE HOLDER CLAMP

  8. REMOVE INJECTOR ASSEMBLY

Fuel Injector -- Removal



1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
ПРЕДОСТЕРЕЖЕНИЕ:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.


2. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE COVER

  1. Detach the 4 clips and remove the engine cover.



3. REMOVE AIR CLEANER ASSEMBLY

  1. Disconnect the mass air flow meter connector.

  1. Unhook the 3 hook clamps.

  1. Disengage the wire harness clamp.

  1. Using pliers, grip the claws of the clip and slide the clip to disconnect the PCV hose from the cylinder head cover.

  1. Using pliers, grip the claws of the clip to remove the air cleaner cap.

  1. Remove the air filter element.

  1. Disconnect the wire harness clamp and remove the 3 bolts and air cleaner case.



4. DISCONNECT ENGINE WIRE

  1. Disconnect the fuel pressure sensor connector.

  1. Disconnect the pressure discharge valve connector.

  1. Disconnect the turbo pressure sensor connector.

  1. Remove the grommet and nut and disconnect the wire harness.

  1. Remove the 2 nuts and disconnect the engine wire from the engine cover bracket.



5. REMOVE INJECTION PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY
ПРИМЕЧАНИЕ:
After removing the fuel pipe, to prevent dirt or foreign objects from entering the pipe inlet, cover the common rail with electrical tape. Also protect the injector inlets with electrical tape or plastic bags.

  1. Remove the 2 bolts and 4 injection pipe clamps.

  1. Using SST, loosen the 4 nuts at the common rail end of the injection pipes.

  1. Using SST, loosen the 4 nuts at the injector end of the injection pipes.

  1. Remove the 4 injection pipes.



6. REMOVE NO. 1 NOZZLE LEAKAGE PIPE ASSEMBLY

  1. Remove the fuel check valve, bolt and gasket.

  1. Remove the 4 union bolts, 4 gaskets and No. 1 nozzle leakage pipe.



7. REMOVE NOZZLE HOLDER CLAMP

  1. Disconnect the 4 injector connectors.

  1. Using a hexagon socket wrench, remove the 4 bolts.

  1. Remove the 4 bolts, 4 washers and 4 nozzle holder clamps.



8. REMOVE INJECTOR ASSEMBLY

  1. Remove the 4 injectors and 4 injection nozzle seats from the cylinder head.

  1. Remove the O-rings from each injector.

    ПРИМЕЧАНИЕ:
    When removing the injector assembly, store them in the correct order so that they can be returned to their original locations when reassembling.
