CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MANIFOLD ABSOLUTE PRESSURE SENSOR - ECM)

REPLACE MANIFOLD ABSOLUTE PRESURE SENSOR

CHECK WHETHER DTC OUTPUT RECURS (DTC P0698 OR P0699)

(The MIL is illuminated and a DTC is immediately set when a malfunction is detected)
  1. Open or short in fuel pressure sensor circuit
  2. Fuel pressure sensor
  3. Open or short in manifold absolute pressure sensor circuit
  4. Manifold absolute pressure sensor
  5. ECM

Power voltages (5 V as standard) supplied from ECM to both fuel pressure and manifold pressure sensors are higher than appropriate thresholds
(The MIL is illuminated and a DTC is immediately set when a malfunction is detected)

These DTCs are set when the ignition switch is in the ON position.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

1.CHECK ANY OTHER DTCS OUTPUT (IN ADDITION TO DTC P0698 AND/OR P0699)

  1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.

  1. Turn the tester on.

  1. Enter the following menu items: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / DTC.

  1. Read the DTCs.

    Result:
    Result
    		Proceed to
    DTC P0698 and/or P0699 are output
    		A
    DTC P0698 and/or P0699 and other DTCs are output
    		B
    УКАЗАНИЕ:
    If any DTCs other than P0698 and/or P0699 are output, troubleshoot those DTCs first.

2.INSPECT COMMON RAIL ASSEMBLY (FUEL PRESSURE SENSOR)

  1. Disconnect the fuel pressure sensor connector.

  1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

    Standard resistance:
    Tester Connection

    B75-1 (E1) - B75-2 (PCR1)
    		Always
    		16.4 kΩ or less
    B75-2 (PCR1) - B75-3 (VC1)
    		Always
    		3 kΩ or less

  1. Reconnect the fuel pressure sensor connector.

  1. Disconnect the ECM connector.

  1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

    Standard resistance (check for open):

  1. Replace the manifold absolute pressure sensor.

6.CHECK WHETHER DTC OUTPUT RECURS (DTC P0698 OR P0699)

  1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.

  1. Turn the tester on.

  1. Clear the DTCs (See page Нажмите здесь).

  1. Turn the ignition switch off.

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.

  1. Enter the following menu items: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / DTC.

  1. Read the DTCs.

    Result:
