INSPECT ECM (VC VOLTAGE)

CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (ACCELERATOR PEDAL POSITION SENSOR - ECM)

INSPECT ECM (VC VOLTAGE)

REPLACE ACCELERATOR PEDAL ASSEMBLY (ACCELERATOR PEDAL POSITION SENSOR)

CHECK WHETHER DTC OUTPUT RECURS (DTC P0642 OR P0643)

(The MIL is illuminated and a DTC is immediately set when a malfunction is detected)
  1. Diesel throttle body (intake shutter position sensor)
  2. Open or short in diesel throttle body (intake shutter position sensor) circuit
  3. Accelerator pedal position sensor
  4. Open or short in accelerator pedal position sensor circuit
  5. ECM
P0643
Power voltages (5 V as standard) supplied from ECM to both intake shutter position and accelerator pedal position sensors are higher than appropriate thresholds
(The MIL is illuminated and a DTC is immediately set when a malfunction is detected)
  1. Diesel throttle body (intake shutter position sensor)
  2. Open or short in diesel throttle body (intake shutter position sensor) circuit
  3. Accelerator pedal position sensor
  4. Open or short in accelerator pedal position sensor circuit
  5. ECM

These DTCs are set when the ignition switch is in the ON position.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

1.CHECK ANY OTHER DTCS OUTPUT (IN ADDITION TO DTC P0642 AND/OR P0643)

  1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.

  1. Turn the tester on.

  1. Enter the following menu items: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / DTC.

  1. Read the DTCs.

    Result:
    Result
    		Proceed to
    DTC P0642 and/or P0643 are output
    		A
    DTC P0642 and/or P0643 and other DTCs are output
    		B
    УКАЗАНИЕ:
    If any DTCs other than P0642 and/or P0634 are output, troubleshoot those DTCs first.

  1. Disconnect the intake shutter position sensor connector.

  1. Disconnect the ECM connector.

  1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

    B40-1 (VC) - B40-2 (E2)
    		Ignition switch ON
    		4.5 to 5.5 V

  1. Reconnect the intake shutter position sensor connector.

  1. Reconnect the accelerator pedal position sensor connector.

  1. Replace accelerator pedal assembly (See page Нажмите здесь).

7.CHECK WHETHER DTC OUTPUT RECURS (DTC P0642 OR P0643)

  1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.

  1. Clear the DTCs (See page Нажмите здесь).

  1. Turn the ignition switch off.

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.

  1. Enter the following menu items: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / DTC.
