Check the resistance.

1. Using an ohmmeter, measure the resistance between the terminals.
   

   Standard resistance:

   Tester Connection	Condition	Specified Condition
   1 - 2	20°C (68°F)	11 to 13 Ω

   If the result is not as specified, replace the vacuum regulating valve.
   




2. Using an ohmmeter, measure the resistance between each terminal and body ground.
   

   Standard resistance:

   Tester Connection	Condition	Specified Condition
   1 - Body ground	Always	1 MΩ or higher
   2 - Body ground	Always	1 MΩ or higher

   If the result is not as specified, replace the vacuum regulating valve.
   

Check the air tightness.

1. Apply a vacuum to the vacuum inlet port.
   

2. Check that the needle of the vacuum pump indicates decrease of 66.7 kPa (500 mmHg, 19.7 in.Hg) or less.
   If the air tightness is not as specified, replace the vacuum regulating valve.
   

Check the operation.

1. Apply 4 dry batteries of 1.5 V in series.
   

2. Check that the needle does not move when a vacuum is applied to the vacuum inlet port.
   If the operation is not as specified, replace the vacuum regulating valve.
