СИСТЕМА ECD - Выходная цепь VC


DESCRIPTION

The ECM constantly generates 5 V of power from the battery voltages supplied to the +B (BATT) terminal to operate the microprocessor while the ignition switch is in the ON position (engine running). The ECM also provides this power to the sensors through the VC output circuit.

When the VC circuit is short-circuited, the microprocessor in the ECM and sensors that are supplied with power through the VC circuit are deactivated because the power is not supplied from the VC circuit. Under this condition, the system does not start up and the MIL does not illuminate even if the system malfunctions.
УКАЗАНИЕ:
Under normal conditions, the MIL is illuminated for several seconds when the ignition switch is first turned to the ON position. The MIL goes off when the engine is started.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

1.CHECK MIL CONDITION
  1. Check that Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) illuminates when turning the ignition switch to the ON position.

    OK:
    The MIL illuminates.

2.CHECK COMMUNICATION BETWEEN INTELLIGENT TESTER AND ECM
  1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.

  1. Turn the tester on.

  1. Check the communication between the intelligent tester and ECM.

    Result:

3.CHECK MIL (INTAKE SHUTTER POSITION SENSOR)
  1. Disconnect the diesel throttle body connector.

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.

  1. Check the MIL.

    Result:

  1. Reconnect the diesel throttle body connector.

4.CHECK MIL (MANIFOLD ABSOLUTE PRESSURE SENSOR)
  1. Disconnect the manifold absolute pressure sensor connector.

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.

  1. Check the MIL.

  1. Reconnect the manifold absolute pressure sensor connector.

5.CHECK MIL (ACCELERATOR PEDAL POSITION SENSOR)
  1. Disconnect the accelerator pedal position sensor connector.

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.

  1. Check the MIL.

  1. Reconnect the accelerator pedal position sensor connector.

6.CHECK MIL (FUEL PRESSURE SENSOR)
  1. Disconnect the fuel pressure sensor connector.

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.

  1. Check the MIL.

  1. Reconnect the fuel pressure sensor connector.

7.CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (VC CIRCUIT)

  1. Disconnect the diesel throttle body connector.

  1. Disconnect the manifold absolute pressure sensor connector.

  1. Disconnect the accelerator pedal connector.

  1. Disconnect the fuel pressure sensor connector.

  1. Disconnect the ECM connectors.

  1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

    Standard resistance (check for short):

  1. Reconnect the diesel throttle body connector, manifold absolute pressure sensor connector, accelerator pedal position sensor connector, and fuel pressure sensor connectors.

  1. Reconnect the ECM connectors.
