DESCRIPTION
The ECM opens and closes the throttle valve using a rotary solenoid type actuator. Due to opening and closing the valve, the exhaust gas recirculation volume can be properly controlled. Also, engine vibration and noise will be reduced by closing the valve when the engine is stopped.DTC No.

MONITOR DESCRIPTION
The ECM opens and closes the throttle valve by adjusting the current flowing to the rotary solenoid with a duty ratio. If the throttle valve does not move smoothly or is stuck, the duty ratio used during valve movement control increases or decreases greatly, and the ECM will determine that the throttle valve is malfunctioning and the ECM will illuminate the MIL.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

- After replacing the ECM, the new ECM needs registration (See page Нажмите здесь) and initialization (See page Нажмите здесь).
- УКАЗАНИЕ:
- After warming up the engine, DTC P0488 can be set if 1 second or more passes after quickly accelerating the engine from idling.
- Read freeze frame data using the intelligent tester. The ECM records vehicle and driving condition information as freeze frame data the moment a DTC is stored. When troubleshooting, freeze frame data can help determine if the vehicle was moving or stationary, if the engine was warmed up or not, and other data from the time the malfunction occurred.

Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.
Turn the ignition switch on (IG) and turn the tester on.
Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / DTC.
Read the DTCs.

2.CHECK IF DTC OUTPUT RECURS |
Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.
Turn the ignition switch on (IG) and turn the tester on.
Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / DTC / Clear.
Clear the DTCs (See page Нажмите здесь).
Start the engine and accelerate the engine from idling to 3000 rpm 3 times quickly.
Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / DTC.
Read the DTCs.

3.CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (DIESEL THROTTLE CONTROL MOTOR - ECM) |
Disconnect the throttle control motor connector.
Disconnect the ECM connector.
Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Disconnect the throttle control motor connector.
Turn the ignition switch on (IG).
Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

Reconnect the throttle control motor connector.
6.REPLACE DIESEL THROTTLE BODY ASSEMBLY (THROTTLE CONTROL MOTOR) |
Replace the throttle body assembly (See page Нажмите здесь).
7.CHECK WHETHER DTC OUTPUT RECURS |
Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.
Turn the ignition switch on (IG) and turn the tester on.
Clear the DTCs (See page Нажмите здесь).
Start the engine and drive the vehicle for approximately 15 minutes.
Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / DTC.
Read the DTCs.
