- УКАЗАНИЕ:
- If the EGR system is always operating, black or white smoke may be emitted from the exhaust pipe.
1. CHECK SEATING OF EGR VALVE |
Turn the ignition switch on (IG), and then check that the engine starts and runs at idle.
2. CHECK HOT ENGINE CONDITION |
Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.
Start the engine, then run it at idle.
Turn the intelligent tester on.
Select "Powertrain / ENGINE / Active Test / Control the EGR Position" in Data List.
Warm up the engine.
The coolant temperature should be between 75°C (167°F) and 90°C (194°F).
Check the EGR position.
Check the MAF reading for the conditions shown in the table below when the EGR position is not 0% (EGR ON).
- Standard:
Engine Condition Active Test MAF Idling Active test not performed 3.6 to 7.2 g/s Active test performed (EGR position 0%) 5.8 to 12.4 g/s
- УКАЗАНИЕ:
- If the MAF reading is out of the standard range in either condition (active test performed or active test not performed), replace the EGR valve.
- If the MAF reading is out of the standard range in both conditions (active test performed and active test not performed), check the intake air flow meter.
Check the MAF reading for the conditions shown in the table below when the EGR position is 0% (EGR OFF).
- Standard:
Engine Condition Active Test MAF Idling Active test not performed 5.8 to 12.4 g/s Active test performed (EGR position 100%) 2.1 to 3.8 g/s
- УКАЗАНИЕ:
- If the MAF reading is out of the standard range in either condition (active test performed or active test not performed), replace the EGR valve.
- If the MAF reading is out of the standard range in both conditions (active test performed and active test not performed), check the intake air flow meter.
3. VISUALLY INSPECT HOSES, CONNECTORS AND GASKETS |
Check for cracks, leaks or damage.
Check the engine assembly to see if the portions indicated by the arrows have cracks, leaks or damage.
- ПРИМЕЧАНИЕ:
- Detachment or other problems with the engine oil dipstick, filler cap, PCV hose and other components may cause the engine to run improperly.
- Air suction caused by disconnections, looseness or cracks in the parts of the air induction system between the throttle body and cylinder head will cause engine failure or engine malfunctions.
