DTC P0900 Clutch Actuator Circuit


DESCRIPTION

The clutch actuator is operated by the TCM and engages and disengages the clutch by the pull rod movement of the clutch actuator. An electric motor moves the pull rod, and the clutch stroke sensor, which is mounted on the clutch actuator assembly, detects the pull rod position. The TCM monitors the electrical current and clutch motor output terminal voltage, and detects malfunctions in the clutch motor circuit.

The TCM detects the following conditions:
(1-trip detection logic)
  1. Clutch motor is not energized
  2. Clutch motor voltage is less than 0.5 V*1, or more than threshold*2 for 0.5 seconds
  3. +BM voltage is 10 V or more
  1. Clutch actuator assembly (clutch motor)
  2. Short in clutch motor circuit
  3. TCM

The TCM detects the following conditions:
(1-trip detection logic)
  1. Clutch motor is energized
  2. Target clutch motor current is more than 5A
  3. Actual clutch motor current is less than 1A*3
  1. Clutch actuator assembly (clutch motor)
  2. Open in clutch motor circuit
  3. TCM

The TCM detects the following conditions:
(1-trip detection logic)
  1. Clutch motor is not energized
  2. Difference between maximum and minimum voltages of clutch motor terminal (MCL+ or MCL-) is more than threshold*4 for 0.5 seconds
  3. +BM voltage is 10 V or more
  1. Clutch actuator assembly (clutch motor)
  2. Open in clutch motor circuit
  3. TCM
  1. *1: A short between the clutch motor circuit and the body ground is suspected.
  2. *2: A short between the clutch motor circuit and the +B circuit is suspected.
  3. *3: An open in the clutch motor circuit is suspected. When the motor current does not flow to the ECU terminals despite the ECU ordering the clutch motor to operate, the ECU sets the DTC.
  4. *4: An open in the clutch motor circuit is suspected. When the difference is more than the threshold despite the ECU not ordering the clutch motor to operate, the ECU sets the DTC.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

ПРИМЕЧАНИЕ:
  1. In new clutch actuator assembly installation, perform Clamp Position Adjustment before installing the actuator (See page Нажмите здесь). The pull rods of new clutch actuator assemblies (service supply parts) are not set to the clutch clamp position.
  2. In clutch actuator assembly replacement, perform Initialization and Learning of the multi-mode manual transaxle system after installing the actuator (See page Нажмите здесь). If the actuator is installed without the initialization and learning, it may cause driving performance degradation or system component breakage.
1.INSPECT CLUTCH ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY

  1. Disconnect the clutch motor connector.

  1. Measure the clutch motor resistance.

    Standard resistance:
    Tester Connection

    		0.1 to 100 Ω

  1. Reconnect the clutch motor connector.

2.CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (CLUTCH ACTUATOR - TCM)

  1. Disconnect the clutch actuator assembly connector.

  1. Disconnect the TCM connector.

  1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

    Standard resistance:
