| 1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL |
| 2. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE COVER |
Detach the 4 clips and remove the engine cover.
 |
| 3. REMOVE RADIATOR UPPER AIR DEFLECTOR |
Remove the 6 clips and upper radiator air deflector.
 |
| 4. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER |
| 5. REMOVE BATTERY CLAMP SUB-ASSEMBLY |
Remove the bolt and loosen the nut.
 |
Detach the hook of the battery clamp from the battery carrier, and then remove the battery clamp.
| 6. REMOVE BATTERY |
| 7. REMOVE BATTERY TRAY |
| 8. DISCONNECT VACUUM TRANSMITTING HOSE ASSEMBLY |
Detach the vacuum transmitting hose from the 3 clamps.
 |
Disconnect the 2 vacuum transmitting hoses from the No. 2 air tube.
 |
| 9. REMOVE NO. 2 AIR TUBE |
Separate the No.2 and No.3 air hoses.

- Pull out the air hoses after the retainer is pulled up.

| 10. REMOVE STARTER ASSEMBLY |
Remove the bolt and disconnect the wire harness clamp.
 |
Remove the 2bolts and disconnect the ground cables from the manual transaxle.
 |
Disconnect the starter connector.
 |
Remove the nut and disconnect the wire harness.
Remove the 2 bolts and starter assembly.
 |
