  1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

  2. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE COVER

  3. REMOVE RADIATOR UPPER AIR DEFLECTOR

  4. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER

  5. REMOVE BATTERY CLAMP SUB-ASSEMBLY

  6. REMOVE BATTERY

  7. REMOVE BATTERY TRAY

  8. DISCONNECT VACUUM TRANSMITTING HOSE ASSEMBLY

  9. REMOVE NO. 2 AIR TUBE

  10. REMOVE STARTER ASSEMBLY

1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL


2. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE COVER

  1. Detach the 4 clips and remove the engine cover.

    ПРИМЕЧАНИЕ:
    1. Lift the area around the clips on the top of the engine cover.
    2. Do not suddenly lift the engine cover. Remove the cover slowly by detaching the clips on by one.
    3. Lift area A shown in the illustration particularly slowly because there is a cowl on the top of the area around A. Failure to do so may damage the cover.


3. REMOVE RADIATOR UPPER AIR DEFLECTOR

  1. Remove the 6 clips and upper radiator air deflector.



4. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER


5. REMOVE BATTERY CLAMP SUB-ASSEMBLY

  1. Remove the bolt and loosen the nut.

  1. Detach the hook of the battery clamp from the battery carrier, and then remove the battery clamp.



6. REMOVE BATTERY


7. REMOVE BATTERY TRAY


8. DISCONNECT VACUUM TRANSMITTING HOSE ASSEMBLY


    COROLLA, AURIS. ZZE150 ZRE151,152 NDE150

  1. Disengage the vacuum transmitting hose from the 3 clamps.

  1. Disconnect the vacuum transmitting hose from the No. 2 air tube.



9. REMOVE NO. 2 AIR TUBE

  1. Separate the No. 2 and No. 3 air hoses.

    УКАЗАНИЕ:
    Pull out the air hoses after the retainer is opened.


10. REMOVE STARTER ASSEMBLY

  1. Remove the bolt and disconnect the wire harness clamp.

  1. Remove the 2 bolts and disconnect the ground cables from the manual transaxle.

  1. Disconnect the starter connector.

  1. Remove the nut and disconnect the wire harness.

  1. Remove the 2 bolts and starter assembly.
