- Turn the ignition switch off for 60 seconds before performing the following inspections.
| 1. INSPECT ILLUMINATION DURATION OF GLOW INDICATOR LIGHT (for DPF) |
Turn the ignition switch on (IG) and measure the duration of time that the light remains illuminated.
- Light illumination duration:
- Refer to the graph and the table
- Light illumination duration:
Engine coolant temperature

| 3. INSPECT PRE-HEATING |
Turn the ignition switch on (IG) and measure the length of time that battery voltage is applied to the glow plugs.
- Pre-heating time:
Engine coolant temperature

(15 sec. at the longest)
If the result is not as specified, check the ECM, engine coolant temperature sensor, glow plug and glow plug relay.
| 4. INSPECT AFTER GLOW TIME (for DPF) |
Remove the glow plug relay.

After the engine starts, measure the length of time that battery voltage remains present.
- After glow time:
Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition A55-2 - Body ground - Refer to the graph above

Remove the glow plug relay.
