DESCRIPTION
- УКАЗАНИЕ:
- If DTC P0014 or P0015 is present, check the VVT (Variable Valve Timing) system.

P0014 | Advanced cam timing: With warm engine and engine speed of between 500 rpm and 4000 rpm, all conditions (a), (b) and (c) are met (2 trip detection logic): (a) Difference between target and actual exhaust valve timing is more than 5°CA (Crankshaft Angle) for 1 second (b) Current exhaust valve timing is fixed (timing changes less than 5°CA in 5 seconds) (c) Variations in VVT controller timing is more than 19°CA of maximum delayed timing (advanced) |

- Read freeze frame data using the intelligent tester. Freeze frame data records the engine conditions when malfunctions are detected. When troubleshooting, freeze frame data can help determine if the vehicle was moving or stationary, if the engine was warmed up or not, if the air fuel ratio was lean or rich, and other data from the time the malfunction occurred.

Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.
Turn the ignition switch on (IG).
Turn the tester on.
Select the following menu items: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / DTC.
Read the DTCs.
- Result:
Result Proceed to DTC P0014 or P0015 is output A DTC P0014 or P0015 and other DTCs are output B
- УКАЗАНИЕ:
- If any DTCs other than P0014 or P0015 are output, troubleshoot those DTCs first.

2.INSPECT CAMSHAFT TIMING OIL CONTROL VALVE ASSEMBLY |
Remove the camshaft timing oil control valve assembly.

Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
- Standard resistance:
Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition 1 - 2 20°C (68°F) 6.9 to 7.9 Ω
Apply positive battery voltage to terminal 1 and negative battery voltage to terminal 2. Check the valve operation.
- OK:
- Valve moves quickly.

Reinstall the camshaft timing oil control valve assembly.

3.INSPECT OIL CONTROL VALVE FILTER |

Remove the oil control valve filter.
Check that the filter is not clogged.
- OK:
- Filter is not clogged.
Reinstall the oil control valve filter.

Inspect the camshaft timing gear assembly (See page Нажмите здесь).

5.ADJUST VALVE TIMING |
- УКАЗАНИЕ:
- There are no marks on the cylinder head to match-up for the purpose of checking valve timing. Valve timing can only be inspected by lining up the colored plates on the timing chain with the marks on the pulleys. It may be necessary to remove and re-install the chain to match-up the timing marks (See page Нажмите здесь).

6.CHECK WHETHER DTC OUTPUT RECURS (DTC P0014 OR P0015) |
Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.
Turn the ignition switch on (IG).
Turn the tester on.
Clear the DTCs (See page Нажмите здесь).
Start the engine and warm it up.
Switch the ECM from normal mode to check mode using the tester.
Drive the vehicle for more than 10 minutes.
Select the following menu items: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / DTC.
Read the DTCs.
- Result:
Result Proceed to DTC is not output A DTC P0014 or P0015 is output B
- УКАЗАНИЕ:
- DTC P0014 or P0015 is output when foreign objects in engine oil are caught in some parts of the system. These codes will stay output for a short time even after the system returns to normal. These foreign objects are then captured by the oil filter, thus eliminating the source of the problem.
