  1. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE COVER

  2. REMOVE UPPER RADIATOR AIR DEFLECTOR

  3. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

  4. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER

  5. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT

  6. DISCONNECT VACUUM TRANSMITTING HOSE ASSEMBLY

  7. REMOVE NO. 3 AIR HOSE

  8. REMOVE NO. 4 AIR HOSE

  9. REMOVE DIESEL THROTTLE BODY

  10. REMOVE OIL DIPSTICK GUIDE

  11. REMOVE NO. 1 WATER BY-PASS HOSE

  12. REMOVE OIL COOLER ASSEMBLY

  13. REMOVE NO. 3 WATER BY-PASS PIPE

  14. REMOVE NO. 1 TURBO OIL PIPE

  15. REMOVE NO. 1 OIL COOLER BRACKET

1. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE COVER

  1. Detach the 4 clips and remove the engine cover.

    ПРИМЕЧАНИЕ:
    1. Lift the area around the clips on the top of the engine cover.
    2. Do not suddenly lift the engine cover. Remove the cover slowly by detaching the clips on by one.
    3. Lift area A shown in the illustration particularly slowly because there is a cowl on the top of the area around A. Failure to do so may damage the cover.


2. REMOVE UPPER RADIATOR AIR DEFLECTOR

  1. Remove the 6 clips and upper radiator air deflector.



3. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
ПРЕДОСТЕРЕЖЕНИЕ:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.


4. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER


5. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT

  1. Loosen the radiator drain cock plug.

    УКАЗАНИЕ:
    Collect the coolant in a container and dispose of it according to the regulations in your area.

  1. Remove the radiator reservoir cap.

    ПРЕДОСТЕРЕЖЕНИЕ:
    Do not remove the radiator reservoir cap while the engine and radiator are still hot.
    Pressurized, hot engine coolant and steam may be released and cause serious burns.


  1. Loosen the cylinder block drain cock plug.

    УКАЗАНИЕ:
    The plug is on the backside of the generator on the exhaust manifold side.

6. DISCONNECT VACUUM TRANSMITTING HOSE ASSEMBLY


    COROLLA, AURIS. ZZE150 ZRE151,152 NDE150

  1. Disengage the vacuum transmitting hose from the 3 clamps.

  1. Disconnect the vacuum transmitting hose from the No. 2 air tube.



7. REMOVE NO. 3 AIR HOSE


  1. Remove the No. 3 air hose.

    1. Open the retainer and remove the No. 3 air hose from the No. 2 air tube and intercooler.



8. REMOVE NO. 4 AIR HOSE

  1. Disconnect the sensor connector.

  1. Remove the bolt from the No. 2 air tube.

  1. Loosen the 2 hose clamps.

  1. Disconnect the No. 2 air tube from the No. 4 air hose.

  1. Remove the No. 4 air hose from the diesel throttle body.



9. REMOVE DIESEL THROTTLE BODY

  1. Disconnect the throttle position sensor connector.

  1. Disconnect the throttle motor connector.

  1. Remove the 2 nuts and 2 bolts, and then remove the diesel throttle body and gasket.



10. REMOVE OIL DIPSTICK GUIDE

  1. Remove the 2 bolts and oil dipstick guide.

  1. Remove the O-ring from the dipstick guide.



11. REMOVE NO. 1 WATER BY-PASS HOSE

  1. Loosen the 2 clips and remove the water by-pass hose.



12. REMOVE OIL COOLER ASSEMBLY

  1. Remove the No. 1 cylinder block insulator.

  1. Disconnect the connector from the oil pressure switch.

  1. Remove the 5 bolts, engine oil cooler, and 3 O-rings.



13. REMOVE NO. 3 WATER BY-PASS PIPE

  1. Remove the 2 bolts, O-ring and by-pass pipe.



14. REMOVE NO. 1 TURBO OIL PIPE

  1. Remove the 2 union bolts, 2 gaskets and oil pipe.



15. REMOVE NO. 1 OIL COOLER BRACKET

  1. Remove the 6 bolts, nut, and oil cooler bracket.

  1. Remove the 3 O-rings.
