Microphone Amplifier Removal

  1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

  2. REMOVE INNER REAR VIEW MIRROR COVER

  3. REMOVE FRONT ROOFTOP GARNISH

  4. REMOVE PERSONAL LIGHT ASSEMBLY

  5. REMOVE MICROPHONE AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY

Microphone Amplifier -- Removal



1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.


2. REMOVE INNER REAR VIEW MIRROR COVER

  1. Pull the cover in the direction indicated by the arrow in the illustration. Then remove the cover.



3. REMOVE FRONT ROOFTOP GARNISH

  1. w/ Rain sensor:
    Remove the top garnish.

    1. Using a screwdriver, detach the 3 claws and 2 clips, and remove the top garnish.

      HINT:
      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

  1. w/o Rain sensor:
    Remove the top garnish.

    1. Using a screwdriver, detach the 3 claws and 2 clips, and remove the top garnish.

      HINT:
      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.


4. REMOVE PERSONAL LIGHT ASSEMBLY

  1. Using a screwdriver, remove the 2 covers and 2 screws.

  1. Using a moulding remover, detach the 2 clips and 3 claws.

  1. Disconnect the connector and remove the personal light.



5. REMOVE MICROPHONE AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY

  1. Remove the microphone amplifier cord from the cover labeled A.

  1. Disconnect the connector labeled B.

  1. Remove the 9 screws labeled C and cover.

  1. Remove the microphone amplifier.
