DESCRIPTION
This circuit provides power to operate the height control sensor. The headlight beam level control ECU calculates a height value from the height control sensor signal and the voltage at the power source of the height control sensor. The voltage at the power source of the height control sensor is corrected when SHFL or SHFL is detected.
WIRING DIAGRAM
INSPECTION PROCEDURE
1.INSPECT HEIGHT CONTROL SENSOR (FRONT LH) |
Connect the 3 dry cell batteries (1.5 V) in series.
Remove the height control sensor front LH.
Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal 1 and the negative (-) lead from the battery to terminal 3.
Measure the voltage between terminals 2 and 1 while slowly moving the link up and down.
- Standard voltage:

2.INSPECT HEIGHT CONTROL SENSOR (REAR LH) |
Connect the 3 dry cell batteries (1.5 V) in series.
Remove the height control sensor rear LH.
Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal 1 and the negative (-) lead from the battery to terminal 3.
Measure the voltage between terminals 2 and 1 while slowly moving the link up and down.
- Standard voltage:

3.CHECK WIRE HARNESS (AFS ECU - HEIGHT CONTROL SENSOR (FRONT LH OR REAR LH)) |
Check the wire harness between the headlight beam level control ECU and height control sensor (front LH).
Disconnect A30 ECU connector.
Disconnect A21 sensor connector.
Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.
- Standard resistance:

Check the wire harness between the headlight beam level control ECU and height control sensor (rear LH).
Disconnect A31 ECU connector.
Disconnect o2 sensor connector.
Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.
