Tail Gate Closer System -- System Description |
| TAIL GATE CLOSER SYSTEM DESCRIPTION |
The lower tail gate lock, built into the lower tail gate, sends an open/close condition signal to the No. 2 main body ECU and an open/close operation is performed by operating the lower tail gate lock motor LH and RH.
The latch is opened by the back door remote control so that the lower tail gate can be opened.
4 switches are built into the lower tail gate lock, and the No. 2 main body ECU monitors the status of each switch. The ECU controls latch "release/close" operations in response to the inputs from each switch.
Switch Function Lower tail gate courtesy switch Detects whether lower tail gate is open or closed. This switch turns on when lower tail gate is open or ajar and turns off when it is fully closed. Half-latch switch Detects ajar position of latch. This switch turns on when latch is in open-latch position. Pawl switch Detects the tail gate position. Close position switch Detects fully closed position of latch. This switch turns on when latch is in over-latch position.
