  1. REMOVE FRONT FENDER SPLASH SHIELD SUB-ASSEMBLY LH

  2. REMOVE FRONT FENDER SPLASH SHIELD SUB-ASSEMBLY RH

  3. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY

  4. REMOVE UPPER RADIATOR SUPPORT SEAL

  5. RECOVER REFRIGERANT FROM REFRIGERATION SYSTEM

  6. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT

  7. PRECAUTION

  8. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

  9. DISCONNECT AIR CONDITIONING TUBE ASSEMBLY

  10. DISCONNECT HEATER WATER INLET HOSE AND HEATER WATER OUTLET HOSE

  11. REMOVE FRONT WIPER MOTOR AND BRACKET

  12. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY

  13. REMOVE NO. 3 AIR DUCT SUB-ASSEMBLY

  14. REMOVE STEERING COLUMN ASSEMBLY

  15. REMOVE HEATER TO REGISTER DUCT ASSEMBLY

  16. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL REINFORCEMENT ASSEMBLY

  17. REMOVE AIR CONDITIONING HOSE AND ACCESSORY (w/ Cool Box)

  18. REMOVE AIR CONDITIONING UNIT

Front Air Conditioning Unit (For Rhd) -- Removal


NOTICE:
Set to recirculation mode before removing the air conditioning filter.


1. REMOVE FRONT FENDER SPLASH SHIELD SUB-ASSEMBLY LH

2. REMOVE FRONT FENDER SPLASH SHIELD SUB-ASSEMBLY RH

3. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY

  1. for 1GR-FE:

4. REMOVE UPPER RADIATOR SUPPORT SEAL


  1. Remove the 7 clips and radiator support seal.

5. RECOVER REFRIGERANT FROM REFRIGERATION SYSTEM

  1. Start the engine.

  1. Turn the A/C switch on.

  1. Operate the cooler compressor while the engine speed is approximately 1000 rpm for 5 to 6 minutes to circulate the refrigerant and collect the compressor oil remaining in each component into the cooler compressor.

  1. Stop the engine.

  1. Recover the refrigerant from the A/C system using a refrigerant recovery unit.



6. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT

7. PRECAUTION
NOTICE:
After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal notice before proceeding with work (Click here).


8. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.
NOTICE:
When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected (Click here).


9. DISCONNECT AIR CONDITIONING TUBE ASSEMBLY

  1. Remove the bolt.

  1. Detach the plate as shown in the illustration.

  1. Disconnect the air conditioning tube assembly.

    NOTICE:
    1. Do not use a screwdriver or similar tool to disconnect the tube.
    2. Seal the openings of the disconnected parts using vinyl tape to prevent moisture and foreign matter from entering them.

  1. Remove the 2 O-rings from the air conditioning tube assembly.



10. DISCONNECT HEATER WATER INLET HOSE AND HEATER WATER OUTLET HOSE

  1. Using pliers, grip the claws of the clips and slide the 2 clips.



  1. Disconnect the 2 heater water hoses.

11. REMOVE FRONT WIPER MOTOR AND BRACKET

13. REMOVE NO. 3 AIR DUCT SUB-ASSEMBLY

  1. Remove the clip.

  1. Detach the 2 claws and remove the duct.



14. REMOVE STEERING COLUMN ASSEMBLY

  1. for Power Tilt and Power Telescopic Steering Column:

15. REMOVE HEATER TO REGISTER DUCT ASSEMBLY

  1. Remove the 3 clips.



  1. Detach the 2 claws and remove the duct.

16. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL REINFORCEMENT ASSEMBLY

  1. Detach the 17 clamps and 2 claws and remove the 9 bolts and 5 nuts.



  1. Disconnect the connectors and wire harness.

  1. Remove the instrument panel reinforcement.

    1. for Driver Side:
      Remove the 3 caps and 3 bolts.

    2. for Passenger Side:
      Remove the 2 caps.

    3. for Passenger Side:
      Using a T40 "TORX" socket, remove the 2 "TORX" bolts.

      HINT:
      When removing the bolts, the collars may come off with the bolts.

    4. for Passenger Side:
      Using a 12 mm hexagon wrench, remove the 2 collars.



    5. Remove the 7 bolts, screw and instrument panel reinforcement.

17. REMOVE AIR CONDITIONING HOSE AND ACCESSORY (w/ Cool Box)

  1. Remove the bolt.



  1. Using SST, remove the piping clamp.

    1. Attach SST to the piping clamp.

      HINT:
      Confirm the direction of the piping clamp claw and SST by referring to the illustration on the caution label.

    2. Push down SST and release the clamp lock.

      NOTICE:
      Be careful not to deform the tubes when pushing SST.

    3. Pull SST slightly and push the release lever, then remove the piping clamp with SST.

    4. Remove the piping clamp from SST.

  1. Disconnect the hose and accessory from the liquid tube to remove it.

    NOTICE:
    Cap the open fittings immediately to keep moisture or dirt out of the system.

  1. Remove the 2 O-rings from the air conditioning hose and accessory.



18. REMOVE AIR CONDITIONING UNIT

  1. Remove the 2 nuts and air conditioning unit.
