Rear Seatback Heater (For 60/40 Split Seat Type 40 Side) -- Removal |
- CAUTION:
- Wear protective gloves. Sharp areas on the parts may injure your hands.
- HINT:
- Use the same procedure for RHD and LHD vehicles.
- The procedure listed below is for LHD vehicles.
| 1. REMOVE REAR NO. 1 SEAT ASSEMBLY RH |
Remove the rear No. 1 seat assembly (Click here).
| 2. REMOVE SEAT ADJUSTER BOLT COVER |
 |
Using a screwdriver, detach the 2 claws and remove the cover.
- HINT:
- Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
| 3. REMOVE RECLINING ADJUSTER RELEASE HANDLE RH |
 |
Remove the screw and release handle.
| 4. REMOVE REAR NO. 1 SEAT RECLINING COVER RH |
 |
Remove the 2 screws.
Detach the 3 claws in the order shown in the illustration, and then remove the cover.
| 5. REMOVE REAR NO. 1 SEAT RECLINING COVER LH |
 |
Remove the 2 screws.
Detach the 4 claws and remove the cover.
| 6. REMOVE UPPER SEAT TRACK RAIL COVER LH |
 |
Using a screwdriver, detach the 2 claws and remove the cover.
- HINT:
- Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
| 7. REMOVE UPPER SEAT TRACK RAIL COVER RH |
 |
Using a screwdriver, detach the 2 claws and remove the cover.
- HINT:
- Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
| 8. REMOVE REAR NO. 2 SEAT LEG SIDE COVER |
Remove the 4 screws and detach the 3 claws.
 |
Remove the bolt that is securing the fold seat stopper band and remove the seat leg side cover together with the fold seat stopper band.
 |
| 9. REMOVE REAR NO. 2 SEAT PROTECTOR |
w/ Rear Seat Side Airbag:
Detach the claw and remove the wire harness connector.
 |
w/ Seat Heater System:
Detach the claw and remove the wire harness connector.
Using a clip remover, remove the clip.
 |
Detach the claw and remove the seat protector from the seat hinge.
Detach the 2 claws, open the protector and remove the wire harness.
| 10. REMOVE REAR NO. 1 SEAT HINGE SUB-ASSEMBLY LH |

Remove the 2 nuts and hinge.
| 11. REMOVE REAR NO. 1 SEAT HINGE SUB-ASSEMBLY RH |
 |
w/ Rear Seat Side Airbag:
Detach the wire harness clamp.
w/ Seat Heater System:
Detach the wire harness clamp.
Remove the 2 nuts and hinge.
Detach the cable clamp and disconnect the cable.
 |
| 12. REMOVE REAR SEAT COVER |
Detach the 12 claws.
 |
Remove the 3 screws.
 |
Detach the 2 claws and remove the cover.
| 13. REMOVE REAR UNDER SIDE COVER LH |
 |
Remove the 5 screws.
Detach the clip and 2 claws, and remove the cover.
| 14. REMOVE REAR SEAT UNDER TRAY COVER RH |
 |
Remove the 2 screws.
Detach the 4 claws and remove the cover.
| 15. REMOVE SEAT CUSHION COVER WITH PAD |
w/ Rear Seat Side Airbag:
Detach the side airbag wire harness clamps.
Remove the side airbag wire harness through the hole in the seat cushion.
w/ Seat Heater System:
Disconnect the 2 seat heater connectors.
Remove the seatback heater wire harness through the hole in the seat cushion.
Remove the seat cushion cover with pad.
| 16. REMOVE REAR SEATBACK COVER |

Using a screwdriver, detach the 4 claws and remove the cover.
- HINT:
- Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
| 17. REMOVE REAR SEATBACK BOARD SUB-ASSEMBLY RH |
 |
Detach the 2 claws on the top of the board.
Pull up the board to detach the 2 claws on the bottom of the board and remove it.
| 18. REMOVE REAR SEAT HEADREST ASSEMBLY |
| 19. REMOVE REAR NO. 1 SEAT HEADREST SUPPORT ASSEMBLY |

Detach the 4 claws and remove the 2 supports.
| 20. REMOVE SEATBACK COVER WITH PAD |
Remove the hog rings.
 |
w/ Rear Seat Side Airbag:
Remove the cap nut and seatback cover bracket from the seat frame.
Remove the side airbag wire harness through the hole in the seatback.
 |
w/ Seat Heater System:
Cut the cable tie and disconnect the seatback heater wire harness.
Remove the seatback heater wire harness through the hole in the seatback.
Remove the seatback cover with pad.
| 21. REMOVE REAR SEPARATE TYPE SEATBACK COVER |
w/ Rear Seat Side Airbag:
Disconnect the seatback cover bracket from the seatback pad.
 |
Remove the hog rings and rear seatback cover.
 |
| 22. REMOVE REAR SEATBACK HEATER ASSEMBLY |
 |
Cut off the tack pins which fasten the seatback heater to the seatback cover, and then remove the seatback heater from the seatback cover.
