- HINT:
- Use these procedures to troubleshoot the engine immobiliser system.
- *: Use the intelligent tester.
- If the ignition switch cannot be turned to ON, communication with the intelligent tester can be performed by connecting the intelligent tester to the vehicle and turning a courtesy light switch on and off at intervals of 1.5 seconds or less until communication between the intelligent tester and vehicle begins.
1.VEHICLE BROUGHT TO WORKSHOP |
2.INSPECT BATTERY VOLTAGE |
- Standard voltage:
- 11 to 14 V
If the voltage is below 11 V, recharge or replace the battery before proceeding.- HINT:
- A simple method to determine whether the battery is depleted is to operate the horn.
3.CRANK ENGINE FOR MORE THAN 10 SECONDS |
Check for DTCs and note any codes that are output (Click here).
Based on the DTCs output above, proceed to each diagnostic procedure.
