Navigation System -- Precaution

1.PRECAUTION FOR DISCONNECTING CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
NOTICE:
After the engine switch is turned off, the navigation system requires approximately a minute to record various types of memory and settings. As a result, after turning the engine switch off, wait a minute or more before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

2.PRECAUTION FOR NAVIGATION SYSTEM
  1. If replacing the multi-media module receiver assembly, refer to Initialization of Repair Instruction (Click here).

3.PRECAUTIONS FOR SD CARD

  2. Precaution for removing the SD card

    NOTICE:
    1. If an authorized SD card is not used, the navigation system will not operate.
    2. The SD card contains map data and various programs for the navigation system.
Without the SD card inserted, the navigation system will not operate normally. Therefore, remove the SD card only when necessary, such as when updating the map data.
    3. After removing the SD card, do not insert any other object into the SD card slot.
    4. When inserting the SD card into the SD card slot, make sure that the SD card is free of foreign matter.
    5. When inserting the SD card into the SD card slot, take care not to insert the SD card in the wrong direction.
    6. After inserting the SD card, make sure that it is properly inserted into the SD card slot.

    1. Before removing the SD card, make sure that the engine switch is turned off.

  4. Precaution for handling the SD card

    NOTICE:
    1. Do not touch the terminals with your hand or a metal object.
    2. If a strong force is applied to the SD card, it may be damaged.
    3. Do not leave the removed SD card in any of the following environments. If the SD card is affected adversely, it may result in a malfunction in the navigation system.
      1. Places where static electricity or electronic noise is generated.
      2. Places which are hot or humid.
      3. Places where the SD card may be exposed to direct sunlight.
      4. Places where condensation occurs.
      5. Places which are prone to corrosion.
    4. Do not use the SD card if the label has peeled off or someone has put a sticker or other label on the SD card.

4.PRECAUTIONS FOR MULTI-MEDIA MODULE RECEIVER ASSEMBLY (w/ Sound Library Function)
  1. A Hard Disk Drive (HDD) is built into the multi-media module receiver assembly to store music data of sound library function. Therefore, care must be taken for the following points when handling:

    1. When it is necessary to replace the multi-media module receiver assembly, be sure to replace it with a new one.

      NOTICE:
If a used multi-media module receiver assembly is installed as a replacement part, the customer's HDD will not be recognized.
    2. Do not apply any vibration or shock to the multi-media module receiver assembly.

      NOTICE:
      1. Do not drop or subject the multi-media module receiver assembly to severe impacts.
      2. Do not use the multi-media module receiver assembly if it has been dropped or subjected to severe impacts.
      3. Do not store the multi-media module receiver assembly without the HDD installed. (Only remove the HDD from the multi-media module receiver assembly when a replacement multi-media module receiver assembly or HDD is ready.)
    3. Do not remove the multi-media module receiver assembly if there is a risk that condensation may occur.

      NOTICE:
If the temperature of the multi-media module receiver assembly changes rapidly, condensation may occur inside the unit. This may cause a malfunction of the HDD. Therefore, when the multi-media module receiver assembly is removed from the instrument panel, it needs to be kept inside the vehicle or in an environment with an equivalent temperature and humidity.
    4. Take measures to prevent static electricity.

      NOTICE:
Touching the terminals of a connector can cause static electricity to be transmitted to the internal circuits. This may cause a malfunction of the HDD.
    5. Keep the multi-media module receiver assembly away from magnets or magnetized items.

      NOTICE:
Keep the multi-media module receiver assembly away from speakers, motors, magnetized tools and other magnetic items.

5.PRECAUTIONS FOR HARD DISK DRIVE (HDD) (w/ Sound Library Function)

  1. Music data of the sound library function is stored on the Hard Disk Drive (HDD). Make sure to follow the following instructions when replacing the HDD:

    NOTICE:
Data downloaded by the customer may be stored on the HDD. This data will be lost when the HDD is replaced. Make sure to warn the customer that their data will be lost and obtain their consent prior to replacing the HDD.

    1. The HDD must only be replaced with a new one. Do not attempt to install a used HDD from another vehicle.

      NOTICE:
The multi-media module receiver assembly can recognize only a new HDD.

      NOTICE:
When removing or installing the HDD, only hold it by the areas shown in the illustration.
    4. Do not apply any vibration or shock to the HDD.

      NOTICE:
      1. Do not drop or subject the HDD to severe impacts.
      2. Do not use the HDD if it has been dropped or subjected to severe impacts.
      3. Do not store the HDD by itself if it has been removed from the multi-media module receiver assembly. (Only remove the HDD from the multi-media module receiver assembly when a replacement multi-media module receiver assembly or HDD is ready.)
    5. Do not remove the HDD if there is a risk that condensation may occur.

      NOTICE:
If the temperature of the HDD changes rapidly, condensation may occur inside the unit. This may cause a malfunction of the HDD. Therefore, when the multi-media module receiver assembly is removed from the instrument panel, it needs to be kept inside the vehicle or in an environment with an equivalent temperature and humidity.
  2. Take measures to prevent static electricity.

    NOTICE:
Touching the terminals of a connector can cause static electricity to be transmitted to the internal circuits. This may cause a malfunction of the HDD.
  3. Keep the HDD away from magnets or magnetized items.

    NOTICE:
Keep the HDD away from speakers, motors, magnetized tools and other magnetic items.
  4. Inspect after HDD replacement.

    NOTICE:
Make sure to perform Check Hard Disk Drive (HDD) in Operation Check to confirm that there are no HDD abnormalities after removal or installation (Click here).

6.PRECAUTIONS FOR G-BOOK (w/ Telematics System)
  1. The multi-media module receiver assembly functions as the G-BOOK device and holds the G-BOOK ID.

    NOTICE:
When replacing the multi-media module receiver assembly, perform Vehicle Contract Setting (Click here).
  2. Necessary data for the telematics system is stored in the multi-media module receiver assembly.

    NOTICE:
Download necessary data after replacing the multi-media module receiver assembly (Click here).
