  1. REMOVE STABILIZER CONTROL VALVE PROTECTOR (w/ KDSS)

  2. OPEN STABILIZER CONTROL WITH ACCUMULATOR HOUSING SHUTTER VALVE (w/ KDSS)

  3. REMOVE FRONT WHEEL

  4. REMOVE FRONT HEIGHT CONTROL SENSOR SUB-ASSEMBLY LH (w/ Active Height Control)

  5. DISCONNECT SKID CONTROL SENSOR WIRE

  6. DISCONNECT STEERING KNUCKLE LH

  7. REMOVE FRONT FENDER APRON TRIM PACKING B (w/ KDSS)

  8. REMOVE FRONT FENDER APRON TRIM PACKING B (w/o KDSS)

  9. REMOVE FRONT FENDER APRON TRIM PACKING D

  10. REMOVE FRONT SUSPENSION UPPER ARM ASSEMBLY

Front Upper Suspension Arm -- Removal


HINT:
  1. Use the same procedures for the RH side and LH side.
  2. The procedures listed below are for the LH side.


1. REMOVE STABILIZER CONTROL VALVE PROTECTOR (w/ KDSS)

  1. Detach the clamp, and disconnect the connector from the protector.

  1. Remove the 3 bolts and protector.



2. OPEN STABILIZER CONTROL WITH ACCUMULATOR HOUSING SHUTTER VALVE (w/ KDSS)


  1. Using a 5 mm hexagon socket wrench, loosen the lower and upper chamber shutter valves of the stabilizer control with accumulator housing 2.0 to 3.5 turns.

    NOTICE:
    1. When loosening a shutter valve, make sure that the end protrudes 2 to 3.5 mm (0.0787 to 0.137 in.) from the surface of the block, and do not turn the shutter valve any further.
    2. Do not remove the shutter valves.


3. REMOVE FRONT WHEEL


4. REMOVE FRONT HEIGHT CONTROL SENSOR SUB-ASSEMBLY LH (w/ Active Height Control)

  1. Disconnect the connector.

  1. Remove the nut, bolt and sensor.



5. DISCONNECT SKID CONTROL SENSOR WIRE

  1. Remove the bolt and nut, and disconnect the sensor wire from the steering knuckle and suspension upper arm.



6. DISCONNECT STEERING KNUCKLE LH

  1. Support the front suspension lower arm LH with a jack.

  1. Remove the clip and the nut.

  1. Using SST, disconnect the upper ball joint from the steering knuckle.

    SST
    09628-62011
    NOTICE:
    Do not damage the ball joint dust cover.


7. REMOVE FRONT FENDER APRON TRIM PACKING B (w/ KDSS)

  1. Using a clip remover, remove the 3 clips and apron trim packing.



8. REMOVE FRONT FENDER APRON TRIM PACKING B (w/o KDSS)


    Land Cruiser. Urj200, 202 Grj200 Vdj200

  1. Using a clip remover, remove the 4 clips and apron trim packing.



9. REMOVE FRONT FENDER APRON TRIM PACKING D

  1. Using a clip remover, remove the 4 clips and apron trim packing.



10. REMOVE FRONT SUSPENSION UPPER ARM ASSEMBLY

  1. Remove the nut, bolt, 2 washers and suspension upper arm.
