  16. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL BOX DOOR KNOB (for LHD)

  17. REMOVE LOWER NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL (for LHD)

  18. REMOVE STEERING CONTROL WITH JUNCTION BLOCK (for RHD)

  19. REMOVE STEERING CONTROL ECU (for RHD)

  20. REMOVE FOUR WHEEL DRIVE CONTROL ECU

4Wd Control Ecu -- Removal



1. PRECAUTION
NOTICE:
After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal notice before proceeding with work (Click here).


2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
NOTICE:
When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected (Click here).


3. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH
HINT:
Use the same procedures described for the LH side.


4. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL CUSHION

  1. Put protective tape around the No. 1 instrument panel finish panel cushion.

  1. Using a moulding remover, detach the 7 claws and remove the No. 1 instrument panel finish panel cushion.



5. REMOVE LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL PAD SUB-ASSEMBLY RH

  1. Remove the clip and screw.

  1. Detach the 7 claws and remove the lower instrument panel pad sub-assembly.



6. REMOVE NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY (for LHD)

7. REMOVE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE KNEE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY (for LHD)

  1. Remove the 4 bolts.

  1. Detach the 4 claws and remove the front passenger side knee airbag.

  1. Disconnect the connector.

    NOTICE:
    When handling the airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.


8. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL GARNISH (for RHD)

  1. Place protective tape as shown in the illustration.

  1. Using a moulding remover, detach the 3 claws and remove the No. 1 instrument cluster finish panel garnish.



9. REMOVE NO. 2 INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL GARNISH (for RHD)

  1. Place protective tape as shown in the illustration.



  1. Using a moulding remover, detach the 2 claws and remove the No. 2 instrument cluster finish panel garnish.

  1. Using a screwdriver, detach the 2 claws and open the hole cover.

    HINT:
    Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

    1. Remove the 2 bolts.



    2. Detach the 16 claws.

  1. w/o Driver Side Knee Airbag:

    1. Remove the 2 bolts.



    2. Detach the 9 claws.

  1. for Automatic Air Conditioning System:

    1. Detach the 2 claws and remove the room temperature sensor.

  1. Detach the 2 claws and disconnect the 2 control cables.

  1. Disconnect the connectors and remove the lower No. 1 instrument panel finish panel.



12. REMOVE NO. 1 SWITCH HOLE BASE (for RHD)

  1. Detach the 4 claws.

  1. Disconnect the connectors and remove the No. 1 switch hole cover.



13. REMOVE DRIVER SIDE KNEE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY (for RHD)

  1. Remove the 5 bolts and driver side knee airbag.

  1. Disconnect the connector.

    NOTICE:
    When handling the airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.


14. REMOVE COWL SIDE TRIM BOARD RH

  1. Remove the cap nut.

  1. Detach the 2 clips and remove the cowl side trim board.



15. REMOVE NO. 3 INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL GARNISH (for LHD)

  1. Using a moulding remover, detach the 6 claws and remove the No. 3 instrument cluster finish panel garnish.



16. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL BOX DOOR KNOB (for LHD)

  1. Using a moulding remover, detach the 2 claws and remove the instrument panel box door knob.



17. REMOVE LOWER NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL (for LHD)

  1. Remove the 4 bolts.

  1. Detach the 3 claws.

  1. Disconnect the connector and remove the lower No. 2 instrument panel finish panel.



18. REMOVE STEERING CONTROL WITH JUNCTION BLOCK (for RHD)

  1. Rear side:

    1. Disconnect the 2 connectors.

    2. Remove the bolt and 2 nuts.

  1. Front side:

    1. Disconnect the 3 connectors.

  1. Remove the steering control ECU with the junction block.



19. REMOVE STEERING CONTROL ECU (for RHD)


    Land Cruiser. Urj200, 202 Grj200 Vdj200

  1. Remove the 2 bolts and separate the steering control ECU from the junction block.



20. REMOVE FOUR WHEEL DRIVE CONTROL ECU


    Land Cruiser. Urj200, 202 Grj200 Vdj200

  1. Disconnect the 2 ECU connectors.

  1. Remove the bolt and ECU.
