Speed Sensor (For Input Revolution Sensor) -- Removal

2. REMOVE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION HOUSING

  1. Remove the 16 bolts and automatic transmission housing from the automatic transmission case sub-assembly.



3. FIX AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION ASSEMBLY

  1. Install the automatic transmission assembly to an overhaul attachment.



4. REMOVE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION OIL PAN SUB-ASSEMBLY

  1. Remove the 11 bolts, automatic transmission oil pan sub-assembly and automatic transmission oil pan gasket.

    NOTICE:
    Some fluid will remain in the automatic transmission oil pan sub-assembly. Remove all the pan bolts, and carefully remove the automatic transmission oil pan sub-assembly.
  1. Remove the 4 transmission oil cleaner magnets from the automatic transmission oil pan sub-assembly.

  1. Examine the particles in the automatic transmission oil pan sub-assembly.

    1. Collect any steel chips with the removed transmission oil cleaner magnets. Carefully look at the foreign objects and particles in the automatic transmission oil pan sub-assembly and on the transmission oil cleaner magnets to guess the type of wear which might be found in the transmission.
      Result:
      Steel (magnetic): bearing, gear and clutch plate wear
      Brass (non-magnetic): bush wear



5. REMOVE OIL PUMP ASSEMBLY

  1. Using a screwdriver, disconnect the connector from the transmission revolution sensor (NT).

  1. Remove the 11 bolts from the transmission case.

  1. Pull out the oil pump assembly.

    NOTICE:
    Do not damage the oil pump assembly.

  1. Remove the oil pump O-ring from the oil pump assembly.

  1. Remove the 4 clutch drum oil seal rings from the oil pump assembly.

  1. Remove the 3 oil seal rings from the input shaft.



6. REMOVE TRANSMISSION REVOLUTION SENSOR (NT)

  1. Using a T30 ''TORX'' socket wrench, remove the bolt and transmission revolution sensor (NT) and clamp from the oil pump assembly.

  1. Detach the clamp to remove the transmission revolution sensor (NT) from the clamp.
