LANE DEPARTURE ALERT SYSTEM - Steering Pad Switch Circuit


DESCRIPTION

The driving support ECU assembly receives a lane departure alert main switch signal from the steering pad switch assembly and sends the signal to the forward recognition camera via CAN communication.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

NOTICE:
  1. The vehicle is equipped with a Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) which includes components such as airbags. Before servicing (including removal or installation of parts), be sure to read the precaution for Supplemental Restraint System (Click here).
  2. When replacing the driving support ECU assembly, always replace it with a new one. If a driving support ECU assembly which was installed to another vehicle is used, the information stored in the driving support ECU assembly will not match the information from the vehicle. As a result, a DTC may be stored.
1.INSPECT STEERING PAD SWITCH ASSEMBLY
  1. Remove the steering pad switch assembly (Click here).

  1. Inspect the steering pad switch assembly (Click here).

2.INSPECT SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY
  1. Remove the spiral cable sub-assembly (Click here).

  1. Inspect the spiral cable sub-assembly (Click here).

3.CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY - DRIVING SUPPORT ECU ASSEMBLY)
  1. Disconnect the E122 spiral cable sub-assembly connector.

  1. Disconnect the E164 driving support ECU assembly connector.

  1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

    Standard Resistance:
    Tester Connection
    Condition
    Specified Condition
    E122-12 (DIST) - E164-23 (SPSW)
    Always
    Below 1 Ω
    E122-12 (DIST) or E164-23 (SPSW) - Body ground
    Always
    10 kΩ or higher

4.CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY - ECM OR BODY GROUND)
  1. for 3UR-FE:

    1. Disconnect the E122 spiral cable sub-assembly connector.

    2. Disconnect the A38 ECM connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance:
      Tester Connection
      Condition
      Specified Condition
      E122-2 (ECC) - A38-59 (ECCS)
      Always
      Below 1 Ω
  1. except 3UR-FE:

    1. Disconnect the E122 spiral cable sub-assembly connector.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance:
      Tester Connection
      Condition
      Specified Condition
      E122-2 (ECC) - Body ground
      Always
      Below 1 Ω
