  1. FUEL SUPPLY PUMP INITIALIZATION PROCEDURE

Ecd System (W/O Dpf) -- Initialization


HINT:
After replacing the supply pump and/or the ECM, the ECM learned values must be initialized.
The engine can be initialized through the intelligent tester or by connecting DLC3 terminals.

FUEL SUPPLY PUMP INITIALIZATION PROCEDURE

  1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.

  2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

    NOTICE:
    Do not start the engine.
  3. Turn the tester on.

  4. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine / Utility / Supply Pump Initialization.

  5. Press "Next".

  7. Press "Next".

  9. Press "Exit".

  10. Start the engine to check if the initialization is complete. If the engine cannot be started, repeat the initialization procedures from the beginning.

  11. Idle the engine for at least 1 minute under the following conditions:

    1. The engine coolant temperature is 60°C (140°F) or more.
    2. The fuel temperature is 20°C (68°F) or more.
    NOTICE:
    Do not race the engine immediately after starting the engine. After warming up the engine, racing the engine is acceptable.
    HINT:
    If the engine coolant temperature is difficult to estimate, use the intelligent tester and enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine / Data List / Coolant Temp and Fuel Temperature.
  12. Initialization is complete.
