  1. INSTALL GASKET

  2. INSTALL ECM

  3. CONNECT CONNECTOR HOLDER BLOCK

  4. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

  5. PERFORM INITIALIZATION

Ecm -- Installation



1. INSTALL GASKET

  1. Clean the ECM seal surface with non-residue solvent.

  1. Attach a new gasket to the ECM.



2. INSTALL ECM

  1. Install the ECM with the 4 bolts.

    Torque:
    8.0 N*m{82 kgf*cm, 71 in.*lbf}
    NOTICE:
    1. Make sure the gasket is not folded or caught on any area of the surrounding part.
    2. Make sure there is no foreign matter caught between the gasket and surrounding part.
    3. Do not damage the gasket.

  1. Connect the 2 ECM connectors and push each lock lever down to lock the ECM connectors.

    NOTICE:
    1. Be careful not to allow dirt, water, or other foreign matter to adhere to the connecting parts when connecting the connectors.
    2. Do not twist the wire harness when connecting the ECM connectors.
    3. Make sure that the lock levers are raised 90° before connecting the ECM connectors. Failure to do this may cause the lock lever and terminals to break.
    4. Make sure that the levers are securely locked.


3. CONNECT CONNECTOR HOLDER BLOCK

  1. Connect the connector holder block with the 3 bolts.

    Torque:
    8.0 N*m{82 kgf*cm, 71 in.*lbf}


4. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
NOTICE:
When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after cable is reconnected (Click here).


5. PERFORM INITIALIZATION
NOTICE:
  1. Be sure to perform this procedure after reassembling the throttle body with motor assembly or removing and reinstalling any throttle body component.
  2. Perform the following procedure after replacing the ECM, throttle body with motor assembly or any throttle body components. The following procedure should also be performed if the throttle body is cleaned.
  3. Be sure to perform this procedure after reconnecting the battery cable and replacing the ECM.

  1. Disconnect the EFI fuse, wait at least 60 seconds, and then reconnect the fuse.

  1. Turn the engine switch on (IG) without operating the accelerator pedal.

    NOTICE:
    If the accelerator pedal is operated, perform the above steps again.

  1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3 and clear the DTCs (Click here).

  1. Start the engine and check that the MIL is not illuminated and that the idle speed is within the specified range when the A/C is switched off after the engine is warmed up.

    Standard:
    Condition
    		Engine Idle Speed
    A/C switched off
    		650 to 750 rpm
    NOTICE:
    1. Be sure to perform this step with all accessories off.
    2. Make sure that the shift lever is in N or P.

  1. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ETC / Data List / Throttle Sensor Volt %. Fully depress the accelerator pedal and check that the value is 60% or more.

  1. Perform a road test and confirm that there are no abnormalities.
