SFI SYSTEM - HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING
1.VEHICLE BROUGHT TO WORKSHOP |
2.CUSTOMER PROBLEM ANALYSIS |
- If the display indicates a communication fault in the GTS, inspect the DLC3.
- When any CAN communication system DTCs are output, perform troubleshooting on the CAN communication system first.
4.CHECK DTC AND FREEZE FRAME DATA* |
Check for DTCs () and freeze frame data ().
- Record or print DTCs and freeze frame data, if necessary.
5.CLEAR DTC AND FREEZE FRAME DATA* |
Clear DTCs and freeze frame data ().
6.CONDUCT VISUAL INSPECTION |
7.SET CHECK MODE DIAGNOSIS* |
Switch the ECM from normal mode to check mode.
- Refer to Check Mode Procedure ().
8.CONFIRM PROBLEM SYMPTOMS |
Confirm problem symptoms.
Refer to Problem Symptoms Table ().
If the engine does not start, first perform the Check DTC procedures and Conduct Basic Inspection procedures below.
