  1. REMOVE LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY

  2. REMOVE GLOVE COMPARTMENT DOOR ASSEMBLY

  3. REMOVE SWITCH BASE

  4. REMOVE CIGARETTE LIGHTER KNOB AND ELEMENT ASSEMBLY

  5. REMOVE CIGARETTE LIGHTER COVER

  6. REMOVE CIGAR LIGHTER SOCKET AND RETAINER ASSEMBLY

  7. REMOVE CIGARETTE LIGHTER BEZEL STAY (w/ Illumination)

  8. REMOVE CIGARETTE LIGHTER INDICATOR LENS (w/o Illumination)

Cigarette Lighter -- Removal



1. REMOVE LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY


Hilux. Tgn26, 36 Kun25, 26, 35, 36 Ggn25

  1. Detach the 2 claws, 3 clips and 3 guides and remove the lower instrument panel finish panel.



2. REMOVE GLOVE COMPARTMENT DOOR ASSEMBLY

  1. Slightly bend the upper part of the glove compartment door to release the 2 stoppers and open the glove compartment door until it is horizontal.

  1. Pull the glove compartment door toward the rear of the vehicle to detach the 2 hinges and remove the glove compartment door.

3. REMOVE SWITCH BASE

  1. Detach the 9 claws and guide.

    HINT:
    If the claws are difficult to detach, detach the claws from the back of the switch base.

  1. Disconnect the connectors and remove the switch base.



4. REMOVE CIGARETTE LIGHTER KNOB AND ELEMENT ASSEMBLY


5. REMOVE CIGARETTE LIGHTER COVER

  1. Detach the 2 claws and remove the cigarette lighter cover.

6. REMOVE CIGAR LIGHTER SOCKET AND RETAINER ASSEMBLY

  1. Using a screwdriver, detach the claw, and remove the cigar lighter socket and retainer assembly.

    HINT:
    Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

7. REMOVE CIGARETTE LIGHTER BEZEL STAY (w/ Illumination)

  1. Detach the 2 claws and remove the cigarette lighter bezel stay.



8. REMOVE CIGARETTE LIGHTER INDICATOR LENS (w/o Illumination)

  1. Detach the 2 claws and remove the cigarette lighter indicator lens.
