Vane Pump (For Tr Series Engine) Removal

Steering. Hilux. Tgn26, 36 Kun25, 26, 35, 36 Ggn25

  1. DRAIN POWER STEERING FLUID

  2. REMOVE FAN AND GENERATOR V BELT

  3. DISCONNECT RETURN HOSE

  4. DISCONNECT PRESSURE FEED TUBE ASSEMBLY

  5. REMOVE VANE PUMP ASSEMBLY

  6. REMOVE VANE PUMP OIL RESERVOIR CAP SUB-ASSEMBLY

  7. REMOVE VANE PUMP OIL RESERVOIR SUB-ASSEMBLY

Vane Pump (For Tr Series Engine) -- Removal



1. DRAIN POWER STEERING FLUID


2. REMOVE FAN AND GENERATOR V BELT


    Hilux. Tgn26, 36 Kun25, 26, 35, 36 Ggn25.Power Assist Systems.Power Steering System.Vane Pump (For Tr Series Engine)  Removal
  1. Use the hexagon-shaped part indicated by the arrow in the illustration to move the tensioner pulley downward and decrease the tension in the fan and generator V belt. Then remove the fan and generator V belt.

    NOTICE:
    When removing the fan and generator V belt, do not use the idle pulley's bolt.
    HINT:
    After removing the fan and generator V belt, move the tensioner upward as far as possible.


3. DISCONNECT RETURN HOSE

  1. Detach the clip and disconnect the hose.



4. DISCONNECT PRESSURE FEED TUBE ASSEMBLY


    Hilux. Tgn26, 36 Kun25, 26, 35, 36 Ggn25.Power Assist Systems.Power Steering System.Vane Pump (For Tr Series Engine)  Removal
  1. Remove the union bolt and disconnect the pressure feed tube from the vane pump.

  1. Remove the gasket from the pressure feed tube.



5. REMOVE VANE PUMP ASSEMBLY

  1. Disconnect the connector from the power steering oil pressure switch.



    Hilux. Tgn26, 36 Kun25, 26, 35, 36 Ggn25.Power Assist Systems.Power Steering System.Vane Pump (For Tr Series Engine)  Removal
  1. Remove the 2 bolts and vane pump.



6. REMOVE VANE PUMP OIL RESERVOIR CAP SUB-ASSEMBLY


7. REMOVE VANE PUMP OIL RESERVOIR SUB-ASSEMBLY
  1. Remove the 3 bolts and oil reservoir from the front vane pump housing.

  1. Using a screwdriver, remove the O-ring from the oil reservoir.
