INSPECTION PROCEDURE

NOTICE:
  1. Before disconnecting the connector, make sure that there are no problems with the connection.
  2. After disconnecting the connector, make sure that the connector case and terminals are not deformed or corroded.
1.CHECK EXI4 TERMINAL CIRCUIT
  1. Set the vehicle to the L4 state using the transfer shift lever.

  1. Disconnect the skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly) connector.

  1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

    Standard Resistance:
    Tester Connection
    Condition
    Specified Condition
    A13-3 (EXI4) - Body ground
    Transfer shift position L4
    Below 1 Ω
  1. Connect the skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly) connector.

  1. Set the vehicle to the H2 state using the transfer shift lever.

  1. Disconnect the skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly) connector.

  1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

    Standard Resistance:
    Tester Connection
    Condition
    Specified Condition
    A13-3 (EXI4) - Body ground
    Transfer shift position H2
    10 kΩ or higher

Go to step 3

2.CHECK TEST MODE DTC
  1. Switch the vehicle to Test Mode, perform the H2 to L4 shift operation check, and then check that DTC C1283/83 is not stored (HILUX_TGN26 RM000000XHT090X.html).

3.CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (EXI4 TERMINAL CIRCUIT)
  1. Turn the ignition switch off.

  1. Disconnect the skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly) connector.

  1. Disconnect the L4 position switch (No. 1 transfer indicator switch) connector.

  1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

    Standard Resistance:
    Tester Connection
    Condition
    Specified Condition
    A13-3 (EXI4) - C29-1
    Always
    Below 1 Ω
    A13-3 (EXI4) - Body ground
    Always
    10 kΩ or higher
    C29-2 - Body ground
    Always
    Below 1 Ω

4.INSPECT L4 POSITION SWITCH
  1. Turn the ignition switch off.

  1. Remove the L4 position switch (No. 1 transfer indicator switch) (HILUX_TGN26 RM00000479C008X.html).

  1. Inspect the L4 position switch (No. 1 transfer indicator switch) (HILUX_TGN26 RM0000015HR00KX.html).
