Rear Leaf Spring (For 2Wd) -- Removal |
- HINT:
- Use the same procedure for the RH and LH sides.
- The procedure listed below is for the LH side.
- A bolt without a torque specification is shown in the standard bolt chart.
| 1. REMOVE REAR WHEEL |
| 2. DISCONNECT NO. 3 PARKING BRAKE CABLE ASSEMBLY |

Remove the bolt and disconnect the cable from the spring.
| 3. REMOVE REAR SHOCK ABSORBER ASSEMBLY |

Support the rear axle housing.
Jack up and support the vehicle's frame on stands.
Lower the axle housing until the leaf spring tension is free, and maintain this position.
Remove the 2 bolts and 2 washers.
Disconnect the absorber (with the 4 bushes) from the U bolt seat and frame.
Remove the 4 bushes from the absorber.
Remove the 2 washers.

Remove the 2 bolts and spring bumper.
| 5. REMOVE REAR SPRING U BOLT |

Remove the 4 nuts, 4 washers, 2 U bolts and U bolt seat.
| 6. REMOVE REAR LEAF SPRING BRACKET PIN OR PIN BOLT |
 |
Remove the set bolt.
Remove the nut, washer and bracket pin.
| 7. REMOVE SPRING SHACKLE INNER PLATE |
 |
Remove the 2 nuts, 2 washers and inner plate.
| 8. REMOVE NO. 2 REAR SPRING SHACKLE SUB-ASSEMBLY |
Using a screwdriver, remove the spring shackle.
| 9. REMOVE REAR LEAF SPRING ASSEMBLY LH |
Remove the spring from the vehicle body.
