Front Upper Suspension Arm (For 2Wd) Installation

Using SST and a press, press in a new upper ball joint.

Using a snap ring expander, install a new snap ring.

NOTICE:

Make sure the snap ring is securely installed in the groove.

Pack the upper ball joint with MP grease No. 2.

Grease capacity:

8.0 g (0.282 oz.)

Apply MP grease No. 2 to the locations shown in the illustration.

NOTICE:

Do not apply MP grease No. 2 to the tapered or threaded parts of the ball joint.

Install a new dust cover to the upper arm.

Install a new dust cover set ring.

Using SST and a press, press in a new upper arm bush.

Temporarily install the upper arm with the 2 bolts and 2 nuts.

HINT:

Fix the nuts in place and temporarily install the bolts.

Install the upper arm to the front axle with the nut.

Torque:

110 N*m{1122 kgf*cm, 81 ft.*lbf}

Install a new clip.

Connect the front flexible hose with the bolt.

Torque:

29 N*m{296 kgf*cm, 21 ft.*lbf}

Lower the vehicle.

Press down on the vehicle several times to stabilize the suspension.

Tighten the 2 bolts of the upper arm.

Torque:

85 N*m{867 kgf*cm, 63 ft.*lbf}
