  1. REMOVE FRONT WHEEL

  2. REMOVE FRONT SPEED SENSOR LH (w/ ABS)

  3. DISCONNECT FRONT DISC BRAKE CYLINDER ASSEMBLY LH

  4. REMOVE FRONT DISC

  5. REMOVE FRONT AXLE HUB GREASE CAP LH (for 4WD)

  6. REMOVE FRONT AXLE SHAFT NUT LH (for 4WD)

  7. REMOVE FRONT AXLE HUB ASSEMBLY (for 4WD)

  8. REMOVE FRONT AXLE HUB ASSEMBLY (for Pre-Runner)

  9. REMOVE FRONT AXLE HUB INNER BEARING LH (for 4WD)

  10. REMOVE FRONT AXLE HUB INNER BEARING LH (for Pre-Runner)

  11. REMOVE FRONT AXLE HUB OIL SEAL LH

Front Axle Hub (For 4Wd And Pre-Runner) -- Removal


HINT:
  1. Use the same procedure for the RH and LH sides.
  2. The procedure listed below is for the LH side.


1. REMOVE FRONT WHEEL


2. REMOVE FRONT SPEED SENSOR LH (w/ ABS)

  1. Remove the bolt and speed sensor.

  1. Disconnect the 2 clamps.

  1. Remove the bolt and disconnect the speed sensor wire harness from the steering knuckle.



3. DISCONNECT FRONT DISC BRAKE CYLINDER ASSEMBLY LH

  1. Remove the bolt and disconnect the brake tube bracket from the steering knuckle.



    Hilux. Tgn26, 36 Kun25, 26, 35, 36 Ggn25.Axle And Differential.Axle System.Front Axle Hub (For 4Wd And Pre-Runner) Removal

  1. Remove the 2 bolts and disconnect the front disc brake caliper from the steering knuckle.

    NOTICE:
    Use wire or an equivalent tool to keep the brake caliper from hanging down by the front flexible hose.


4. REMOVE FRONT DISC

  1. Put matchmarks on the disc and axle hub.

  1. Remove the disc.



5. REMOVE FRONT AXLE HUB GREASE CAP LH (for 4WD)

  1. Using a screwdriver and hammer, remove the grease cap.

    NOTICE:
    Do not damage the axle hub.


6. REMOVE FRONT AXLE SHAFT NUT LH (for 4WD)

  1. Remove the cotter pin and lock cap.

  1. Remove the axle shaft nut.



7. REMOVE FRONT AXLE HUB ASSEMBLY (for 4WD)

  1. Remove the 4 bolts, dust cover and axle hub from the steering knuckle.

  1. Remove the O-ring from the axle hub.

  1. w/ ABS:
    Remove the spacer and ABS rotor from the axle hub.

  1. w/o ABS:
    Remove the 2 spacers from the axle hub.



8. REMOVE FRONT AXLE HUB ASSEMBLY (for Pre-Runner)


    Hilux. Tgn26, 36 Kun25, 26, 35, 36 Ggn25.Axle And Differential.Axle System.Front Axle Hub (For 4Wd And Pre-Runner) Removal

  1. Remove the 4 bolts, dust cover and axle hub from the steering knuckle.

  1. Remove the O-ring from the axle hub.



9. REMOVE FRONT AXLE HUB INNER BEARING LH (for 4WD)

  1. Fix the front axle hub in a soft vise.

  1. Using SST, remove the bearing.

10. REMOVE FRONT AXLE HUB INNER BEARING LH (for Pre-Runner)


    Hilux. Tgn26, 36 Kun25, 26, 35, 36 Ggn25.Axle And Differential.Axle System.Front Axle Hub (For 4Wd And Pre-Runner) Removal

  1. Using SST and a hammer, unstake the adjusting nut.

  1. Using SST, remove the adjusting nut.

  1. w/o ABS:
    Remove the spacer from the axle hub.

  1. w/ ABS:
    Remove the sensor rotor from the axle hub.

  1. Fix the front axle hub in a soft vise.

  1. Using SST, remove the bearing.

11. REMOVE FRONT AXLE HUB OIL SEAL LH


    Hilux. Tgn26, 36 Kun25, 26, 35, 36 Ggn25.Axle And Differential.Axle System.Front Axle Hub (For 4Wd And Pre-Runner) Removal

  1. Using a screwdriver, pry out the oil seal.
