REMOVE FRONT WHEEL
DISCONNECT FRONT DISC BRAKE CYLINDER ASSEMBLY LH
REMOVE FRONT DISC
INSPECT FRONT AXLE HUB BEARING LOOSENESS
INSPECT FRONT AXLE HUB RUNOUT
INSTALL FRONT DISC
CONNECT FRONT DISC BRAKE CYLINDER ASSEMBLY LH
INSTALL FRONT WHEEL

- HINT:
- Use the same procedure for the RH and LH sides.
- The procedure listed below is for the LH side.
2. DISCONNECT FRONT DISC BRAKE CYLINDER ASSEMBLY LH |
Remove the bolt and disconnect the brake tube bracket from the steering knuckle.
Remove the 2 bolts and disconnect the front disc brake caliper from the steering knuckle.
- NOTICE:
- Use wire or an equivalent tool to keep the brake caliper from hanging down by the front flexible hose.
Put matchmarks on the disc and axle hub.

Remove the disc.
4. INSPECT FRONT AXLE HUB BEARING LOOSENESS |
Using a dial indicator, check for looseness near the center of the front axle hub.
- Maximum:
- 0.05 mm (0.00197 in.)
- NOTICE:
- Make sure that the dial indicator is set perpendicular to the measurement surface.
If the looseness is more than the maximum, replace the front axle hub sub-assembly.
5. INSPECT FRONT AXLE HUB RUNOUT |
Using a dial indicator, check for runout on the surface of the front axle hub inside the front axle hub bolt.
- Maximum:
- 0.05 mm (0.00197 in.)
- NOTICE:
- Make sure that the dial indicator is set perpendicular to the measurement surface.
If the runout is more than the maximum, replace the front axle hub sub-assembly.
Align the matchmarks and install the disc.

- HINT:
- When replacing the disc with a new one, select the installation position where the disc has the smallest runout.
7. CONNECT FRONT DISC BRAKE CYLINDER ASSEMBLY LH |
Connect the front disc brake cylinder to the steering knuckle with the 2 bolts.
- Torque:
- 122 N*m{1244 kgf*cm, 90 ft.*lbf}
Install the brake tube bracket to the steering knuckle with the bolt.
- Torque:
- 29 N*m{296 kgf*cm, 21 ft.*lbf}
- Torque:
- 105 N*m{1071 kgf*cm, 77 ft.*lbf}
