DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT
REMOVE V-BANK COVER
DISCONNECT RADIATOR HOSE OUTLET
REMOVE WATER INLET SUB-ASSEMBLY WITH THERMOSTAT

2. REMOVE ENGINE SIDE COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY RH |
3. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER |
- CAUTION:
- Do not remove the radiator cap while the engine and radiator are still hot. Pressurized, hot engine coolant and steam may be released and cause serious burns.

Loosen the radiator drain cock plug.
Remove the radiator cap and drain the coolant.
- HINT:
- Collect the coolant in a container and dispose of it according to the regulations in your area.
Loosen the cylinder block water drain cock plug and drain the coolant from the engine.
Remove the 2 nuts and V-bank cover.
6. DISCONNECT RADIATOR HOSE OUTLET |
Disconnect the radiator hose outlet from the water inlet housing.
7. REMOVE WATER INLET SUB-ASSEMBLY WITH THERMOSTAT |
Remove the 3 nuts, water inlet sub-assembly with thermostat and gasket.
- HINT:
- If the thermostat was not installed, cooling efficiency would be harmed. Even if the engine tends to overheat, do not remove the thermostat.
