Intake Manifold Removal

  1. PRECAUTION

  2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

  3. REMOVE STARTER ASSEMBLY

  4. REMOVE TRANSMISSION OIL FILLER TUBE SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Automatic Transmission)

  5. REMOVE THROTTLE BODY WITH MOTOR ASSEMBLY

  6. REMOVE FRONT UPPER FENDER APRON SEAL

  7. REMOVE PURGE VSV

  8. REMOVE INTAKE MANIFOLD

  9. REMOVE STUD BOLT

Intake Manifold -- Removal



1. PRECAUTION
NOTICE:
After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal notice before proceeding with work (HILUX_TGN26 RM000004QR1006X.html).


2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
NOTICE:
When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected (HILUX_TGN26 RM000004QR300CX.html).


3. REMOVE STARTER ASSEMBLY
  1. for 1.6 kW Type: (HILUX_TGN26 RM00000135T01TX.html)
  2. for 1.7 kW Type: (HILUX_TGN26 RM000000SH201AX.html)


4. REMOVE TRANSMISSION OIL FILLER TUBE SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Automatic Transmission)


Hilux. Tgn26, 36 Kun25, 26, 35, 36 Ggn25

  1. Remove the oil level dipstick.

  1. Remove the 2 bolts and transmission oil filler tube.

  1. Remove the O-ring from the transmission oil filler tube.



5. REMOVE THROTTLE BODY WITH MOTOR ASSEMBLY

6. REMOVE FRONT UPPER FENDER APRON SEAL

  1. Remove the 5 clips and front upper fender apron seal.



7. REMOVE PURGE VSV


    Hilux. Tgn26, 36 Kun25, 26, 35, 36 Ggn25

  1. Disconnect the purge VSV connector.

  1. Disconnect the 2 purge line hoses from the purge VSV.

  1. Remove the bolt and purge VSV.



8. REMOVE INTAKE MANIFOLD


    Hilux. Tgn26, 36 Kun25, 26, 35, 36 Ggn25

  1. Detach the 3 wire harness clamps from the 2 wire harness clamp brackets.

  1. Detach the No. 1 fuel hose from the intake manifold.

  1. Detach the No. 2 water by-pass hose.

  1. Disconnect the No. 3 PCV hose and vacuum hose from the intake manifold.

  1. for Automatic Transmission:
    Remove the bolt and oil filler tube bracket.

  1. Remove the 5 bolts, 2 nuts and intake manifold.

  1. Remove the gasket from the intake manifold.

  1. Remove the 2 bolts and 2 wire harness clamp brackets from the intake manifold.

  1. Remove the purge line hose from the intake manifold.



9. REMOVE STUD BOLT
NOTICE:
If a stud bolt is deformed or its threads are damaged, replace it.

  1. Using an E6 "TORX" socket wrench, remove the 2 stud bolts from the intake manifold.
