Fuel Filter Replacement

  1. DISCHARGE FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE

  2. PRECAUTION

  3. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

  4. REMOVE CANISTER

  5. DISCONNECT NO. 1 FUEL HOSE

  6. DISCONNECT FUEL MAIN TUBE

  7. REMOVE FUEL FILTER

  8. INSTALL FUEL FILTER

  9. CONNECT FUEL MAIN TUBE

  10. CONNECT NO. 1 FUEL HOSE

  11. INSTALL CANISTER

  12. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

  13. INSPECT FOR FUEL LEAK

Fuel Filter -- Replacement



1. DISCHARGE FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE

2. PRECAUTION
NOTICE:
After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal notice before proceeding with work (HILUX_TGN26 RM000004QR1006X.html).


3. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
NOTICE:
When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected (HILUX_TGN26 RM000004QR3008X.html).


4. REMOVE CANISTER


    Hilux. Tgn26, 36 Kun25, 26, 35, 36 Ggn25

  1. Disconnect the 3 hoses from the canister.



    Hilux. Tgn26, 36 Kun25, 26, 35, 36 Ggn25

  1. Detach the canister from the stay and remove the canister.



5. DISCONNECT NO. 1 FUEL HOSE


    Hilux. Tgn26, 36 Kun25, 26, 35, 36 Ggn25

  1. Detach the No. 1 fuel hose from the fuel filter.

  1. Disconnect the No. 1 fuel hose (HILUX_TGN26 RM000000YL401OX.html).



6. DISCONNECT FUEL MAIN TUBE


    Hilux. Tgn26, 36 Kun25, 26, 35, 36 Ggn25

  1. Disconnect the fuel main tube (HILUX_TGN26 RM000000YL401OX.html).



7. REMOVE FUEL FILTER


    Hilux. Tgn26, 36 Kun25, 26, 35, 36 Ggn25

  1. Remove the 3 nuts and fuel filter.



8. INSTALL FUEL FILTER

  1. Install the fuel filter with the 3 nuts.

    Torque:
    8.5 N*m{87 kgf*cm, 75 in.*lbf}


9. CONNECT FUEL MAIN TUBE

  1. Connect the fuel main tube (HILUX_TGN26 RM000000YL401OX.html).



10. CONNECT NO. 1 FUEL HOSE

  1. Connect the No. 1 fuel hose (HILUX_TGN26 RM000000YL401OX.html).

  1. Attach the No. 1 fuel hose to the fuel filter.



11. INSTALL CANISTER


    Hilux. Tgn26, 36 Kun25, 26, 35, 36 Ggn25

  1. Attach the canister to the stay.

  1. Connect the 3 hoses to the canister.



12. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
NOTICE:
When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected (HILUX_TGN26 RM000004QR3008X.html).


13. INSPECT FOR FUEL LEAK

  1. Make sure that there are no fuel leaks after performing maintenance on the fuel system.

    1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON and turn the intelligent tester on.

      NOTICE:
      Do not start the engine.

    3. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Active Test / Control the Fuel Pump / Speed.

    4. Check that there are no leaks from the fuel system.
      If there are fuel leaks, repair or replace parts as necessary.

    5. Turn the ignition switch off.

    6. Disconnect the intelligent tester from the DLC3.
