DTC B1630/23 Driver Side Rear Airbag Sensor Circuit Malfunction


DESCRIPTION

The rear airbag sensor LH consists of parts including the diagnostic circuit and the lateral deceleration sensor.
When the center airbag sensor assembly receives signals from the lateral deceleration sensor, it determines whether or not the SRS should be activated.
DTC B1630/23 is recorded when a malfunction is detected in the rear airbag sensor LH circuit.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

1.CHECK DTC

  1. Turn the ignition switch on, and wait for at least 60 seconds.

  1. Clear the DTCs stored in the memory (YARIS_NCP93 RM000000XFE0D2X.html).

  1. Turn the ignition switch off.

  1. Turn the ignition switch on, and wait for at least 60 seconds.

  1. Check the DTCs (YARIS_NCP93 RM000000XFE0D2X.html).

    OK:
    DTC B1630/23 is not output.
    HINT:
    DTCs other than DTC B1630/23 may be output at this time, but they are not related to this check.

2.CHECK CONNECTION OF CONNECTORS

  1. Turn the ignition switch off.

  1. Disconnect the negative (-) terminal cable from the battery, and wait for at least 90 seconds.

  1. Check that the connectors are properly connected to the center airbag sensor assembly and the rear airbag sensor LH.

    OK:
    The connectors are properly connected.

3.CHECK FLOOR WIRE (FOR OPEN)

  1. Disconnect the connectors from the side airbag sensor LH and the rear airbag sensor LH.

  1. Using a service wire, connect J15-2 (BCL+) and J15-1 (BCL-) of connector C.

    NOTICE:
    Do not forcibly insert the service wire into the terminals of the connector when connecting.

  1. Measure the resistance.

    Standard resistance:
    Tester Connection

  1. Measure the resistance.

  1. Turn the ignition switch on.

  1. Measure the voltage.

    Standard voltage:

7.CHECK REAR AIRBAG SENSOR LH

  1. Connect the connectors to the center airbag sensor assembly.

  1. Interchange the rear airbag sensor LH with the rear airbag sensor RH and connect the connectors to them.

  1. Connect the negative (-) terminal cable to the battery, and wait for at least 2 seconds.

  1. Turn the ignition switch on (IG), and wait for at least 60 seconds.

  1. Clear the DTCs stored in the memory (YARIS_NCP93 RM000000XFE0D2X.html).

  1. Turn the ignition switch off.

  1. Turn the ignition switch on, and wait for at least 60 seconds.

  1. Check the DTCs (YARIS_NCP93 RM000000XFE0D2X.html).

    Result:
    Result
    		Proceed to
    DTC B1630/23 is output.
    		A
    DTC B1635/24 is output.
    		B
    DTC B1630/23 and B1635/24 are not output.

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the lock position.

  1. Disconnect the negative (-) terminal cable from the battery, and wait for at least 90 seconds.

  1. Return the airbag sensor rear LH and RH to their original positions and connect the connectors to them.

  1. Interchange the side airbag sensor LH with the side airbag sensor RH and connect the connectors to them.

  1. Connect the negative (-) terminal cable to the battery, and wait for at least 2 seconds.

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the on position, and wait for at least 60 seconds.

  1. Clear the DTCs stored in the memory (YARIS_NCP93 RM000000XFE0D2X.html).

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the lock position.

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the on position, and wait for at least 60 seconds.

  1. Check for DTCs (YARIS_NCP93 RM000000XFE0D2X.html).
