  1. INSPECT ENGINE OIL QUALITY

  2. INSPECT ENGINE OIL LEVEL

  3. INSPECT ENGINE OIL PRESSURE

  4. INSPECT FOR OIL LEAK

Lubrication System (For Sedan) -- On-Vehicle Inspection



1. INSPECT ENGINE OIL QUALITY
  1. Check the engine oil for deterioration, water intrusion, discoloration or thinning.
    If the quality is visibly poor, replace the engine oil and oil filter.



2. INSPECT ENGINE OIL LEVEL
  1. Warm up the engine, then stop the engine and wait for 5 minutes.

  1. Check that the engine oil level is between the low and full marks on the engine oil level dipstick.
    If the engine oil level is low, check for oil leakage and add engine oil up to the full level mark.

    NOTICE:
    Do not add engine oil to above the full level mark.


3. INSPECT ENGINE OIL PRESSURE
  1. Remove the engine oil pressure switch (YARIS_NCP93 RM00000332T00BX.html).

  1. Install the oil pressure gauge.

  1. Warm up the engine.

  1. Check the engine oil pressure.

    Standard oil pressure:
    Engine rpm
    Oil Pressure
    When idling
    29 kPa (0.3 kgf/cm2, 4.3 psi) or more
    At 3000 rpm
    150 to 550 kPa (1.5 to 5.6 kgf/cm2, 22 to 80 psi) or more
    If the oil pressure is not specified, check the oil pump (YARIS_NCP93 RM000001DDX00QX.html).
  1. Remove the oil pressure gauge.

  1. Install the engine oil pressure switch (YARIS_NCP93 RM00000332Q00BX.html).



4. INSPECT FOR OIL LEAK
