  3. REMOVE ROOF HEADLINING ASSEMBLY

  4. REMOVE CURTAIN SHIELD AIRBAG ASSEMBLY

Curtain Shield Airbag Assembly -- Removal


NOTICE:
If the curtain shield airbag assembly is removed, replace it with a new one.
HINT:
  1. Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side.
  2. The following procedure is for the LH side.


1. PRECAUTION
CAUTION:
Be sure to read Precaution thoroughly before servicing (COROLLA_ZRE142 RM000000KT10H0X.html).


2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.


3. REMOVE ROOF HEADLINING ASSEMBLY
HINT:
Refer to the procedure up to Remove Roof Headlining Assembly (Link).


4. REMOVE CURTAIN SHIELD AIRBAG ASSEMBLY

  1. Disconnect the curtain shield airbag connector.

    NOTICE:
    When disconnecting the airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.


  1. Separate the 4 clips from the body panel.

    1. Using a clip remover, remove the 4 pins.



      2. Corolla. Zre142 Aze141.Supplemental Restraint Systems.Airbag System.Curtain Shield Airbag Assembly Removal

    2. Using needle-nose pliers, separate the 4 clips and curtain shield airbag assembly from the body as shown in the illustration.



  1. Remove the 5 bolts and curtain shield airbag assembly with the 4 spacers and 4 clips.

    NOTICE:
    If the curtain shield airbag assembly is removed, replace it with a new one.
