THEFT DETERRENT SYSTEM - Security Indicator Light Circuit


DESCRIPTION

Even when the theft deterrent system is in the disarmed state, the telltale light assembly (security indicator light) blinks due to a signal output from the immobiliser system. The telltale light assembly (security indicator light) blinks continuously due to a continuous signal received from the immobiliser system while in the armed state.
The theft warning ECU assembly causes the telltale light assembly (security indicator light) to come on only during the arming preparation and alarm sounding states.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

1.PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM

  1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.

  1. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

  1. Turn the Techstream on.

  1. Select the item below in the Active Test and then check that the indicator operates.

    Security
    Tester Display
    		Test Part
    		Control Range
    		Diagnostic Note
    Security Indicator
    		Security indicator
    		ON / OFF
    		-
    OK:
    The security indicator light flashes or goes off correctly when operating it through the Techstream.

2.CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (THEFT DETERRENT ECU ASSEMBLY - TELLTALE LIGHT ASSEMBLY)

  1. Disconnect the E110 theft warning ECU assembly and E124 telltale light assembly (security indicator light) connectors.

  1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

    Standard Resistance:
    Tester Connection

    		Always
    		10 kΩ or higher
