- HINT:
- If DTC B2785 is output, perform troubleshooting for DTC B2785 first.
2.CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MAIN BODY ECU - CERTIFICATION ECU) |
Disconnect the E36 ECU and 2C junction block connectors.
Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
- Standard Resistance:
Tester Connection
| Condition
| Specified Condition
|
2C-12 (LIN1) - E36-10 (LIN)
| Always
| Below 1 Ω
|
2C-12 (LIN1) or E36-10 (LIN) - Body ground
| Always
| 10 kΩ or higher
|
| REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (MAIN BODY ECU - CERTIFICATION ECU) |
|
|
3.CHECK MAIN BODY ECU (INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK) OPERATION |
After replacing the main body ECU (instrument panel junction block) with a normally functioning ECU, check that the engine starts.
- OK:
- Engine starts normally.
- HINT:
- If the engine does not start, refer to Problem Symptoms Table of the smart key system (entry function) (Room Oscillator does not Recognized Key).
