Valve Body Assembly Removal
REMOVE ENGINE UNDER COVER LH
DRAIN AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE FLUID
REMOVE AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE OIL PAN SUB-ASSEMBLY
REMOVE VALVE BODY OIL STRAINER ASSEMBLY
REMOVE TRANSMISSION VALVE BODY ASSEMBLY
REMOVE MANUAL VALVE
Valve Body Assembly -- Removal |
1. REMOVE ENGINE UNDER COVER LH |
2. DRAIN AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE FLUID |
Remove the drain plug and gasket, and drain ATF.
Install a new gasket and the drain plug.
- Torque:
- 49 N*m{500 kgf*cm, 36 ft.*lbf}
3. REMOVE AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE OIL PAN SUB-ASSEMBLY |
Remove the 19 bolts, oil pan and oil pan gasket.
- NOTICE:
- Some fluid will remain in the oil pan.
- Remove all the oil pan bolts, and carefully remove the oil pan sub-assembly.
Remove the 2 magnets from the oil pan.
Examine the particles in the oil pan.
Collect any steel chips with the removed magnets. Look carefully at the chips and particles in the pan and on the magnets to see the type of wear which might be found in the transaxle.
- Result:
- Steel (magnetic):
- bearing, gear and plate wear
- Brass (non-magnetic):
- bushing wear
4. REMOVE VALVE BODY OIL STRAINER ASSEMBLY |
Remove the 3 bolts and oil strainer.
- NOTICE:
- Perform the operation carefully as some fluid will come out from the oil strainer.
Remove the oil strainer gasket from the oil strainer.
5. REMOVE TRANSMISSION VALVE BODY ASSEMBLY |
Disconnect the 5 connectors.
Remove the bolt, lock plate and ATF temperature sensor.
Remove the 2 bolts, manual detent spring cover and manual detent spring.
Remove the 13 bolts and valve body assembly.
- NOTICE:
- Do not drop the check ball body, check ball body spring or accumulator piston.
Remove the check ball body and check ball body spring.
Remove the 2 transaxle case 2nd brake gaskets.
Remove the manual valve from the valve body.
