Cylinder Head Disassembly

Remove the 16 valve lifters from the cylinder head.

HINT:

Arrange the valve lifters in the correct order.

Using SST and wooden blocks, remove the 16 retainer locks.

Remove the 8 retainers, compression springs and intake valves.

HINT:

Arrange the removed parts in the correct order.

Using SST and wooden blocks, remove the 16 retainer locks.

Remove the 8 retainers, compression springs and exhaust valves.

HINT:

Arrange the removed parts in the correct order.

Using needle nose pliers, remove the oil seals.

Using compressed air and a magnetic pick-up tool, remove the valve spring seats by blowing air onto them.

Using a 14 mm straight hexagon wrench, remove the 2 screw plugs and 2 gaskets.

NOTICE:

If water leaks from the straight screw plug or the plug is corroded, replace it.
