DESCRIPTION

This DTC is stored when there is an open, short or ECU communication malfunction between the main body ECU (instrument panel junction block) and certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly).

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

NOTICE:
  1. If the certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) is replaced, register the key.
  2. When using the intelligent tester to troubleshoot with the engine switch off:
    Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3, and turn the courtesy switch on and off at 1.5-second intervals until communication between the intelligent tester and vehicle begins.
1.CHECK DTC OUTPUT

  1. Clear the DTC (CAMRY_ACV40 RM000002XHS00KX.html).

  1. Recheck for DTCs.

    HINT:
    Check the both Entry & Start and Main Body DTCs.
    Result:

    		Proceed to
    Only DTC B2287 is output.
    		A
    DTC B2287 and B2785 are output simultaneously.
    		B
    HINT:
    When DTC B2287 and B2785 are output simultaneously, perform troubleshooting for DTC B2785 first.

2.CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (CERTIFICATION ECU - MAIN BODY ECU)

  1. Disconnect the IR junction block connector.

  1. Disconnect the E74 ECU connector.

  1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

    Standard resistance:
    Tester Connection
    		Condition
    		Specified Condition
    E74-10 (LIN) - IR-9 (LIN1)
    		Always
    		Below 1 Ω
    E74-10 (LIN) - Body ground
    		Always
    		10 kΩ or higher

REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

3.REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU (INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK)

  1. Replace the main body ECU (instrument panel junction block).
