- HINT:
- Using the intelligent tester to read the DATA LIST allows the values or states of switches, sensors, actuators and other items to be read without removing any parts. This non intrusive inspection can be very useful as intermittent conditions or signals may be discovered before parts or wiring is disturbed. Reading the DATA LIST information early in troubleshooting is one way to save diagnostic time.
Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.
Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
Read the DATA LIST.
BODY: Tester Display Measurement Item/Range Normal Condition Diagnostic Note Key Unlock Warning SW Unlock warning switch signal/ON or OFF ON: Key is in ignition key cylinder
OFF: No key is in ignition key cylinder- D Door Courtesy SW Driver's side door courtesy switch signal/ON or OFF ON: Driver's side door is open
OFF: Driver's side door is closed-

- Using the intelligent tester to perform ACTIVE TEST allows the operation or effects of actuators, relays, VSVs, and other items to be tested without removing any parts. This non intrusive inspection can be very useful as intermittent conditions or operation may be discovered before parts or wiring are disturbed. Using the ACTIVE TEST early in troubleshooting is one way to save diagnostic time. It is possible to view DATA LIST information on the intelligent tester while performing ACTIVE TEST.
Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.
Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
Perform the ACTIVE TEST.
