Front Seat Side Airbag Assembly (For Power Seat) -- Installation |
| 1. INSTALL FRONT SEAT SIDE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY |
- CAUTION:
- The nuts must not be reused.
- Make sure that the seat frame assembly is not deformed. If it is, replace it with a new one.
Install the front seat side airbag assembly with 2 new nuts.
- Torque:
- 5.5 N*m{56 kgf*cm, 49 in.*lbf}

Connect the 2 clamps.
 |
Connect the 4 wire harness clamps to under the seat.
| 2. INSTALL FRONT SEPARATE TYPE SEAT BACK ASSEMBLY |
Fully cover the airbag with the 2 seatback cover brackets and tighten the nut.
- Torque:
- 5.5 N*m{56 kgf*cm, 49 in.*lbf}
- NOTICE:
- For vehicles with side airbags, the seat back cover must be securely installed. Otherwise, the side airbags may not deploy properly.
- Make sure that the strap is not twisted after installing the bracket.
- Install the bracket securely.

Engage the 3 hooks.
 |
Using hog ring pliers, install 2 new hog rings.
- NOTICE:
- Be careful not to damage the cover.
- When installing the hog rings, take care to minimize wrinkles as much as possible.

| 4. INSTALL FRONT SEAT HEADREST SUPPORT (for RH Side) |
| 5. INSTALL FRONT SEAT BACK BOARD SUB-ASSEMBLY |
| 6. INSTALL FRONT INNER SEAT CUSHION SHIELD |
| 7. INSTALL FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSEMBLY |
Install the front seat inner belt assembly with the nut.
- Torque:
- 42 N*m{428 kgf*cm, 31 ft.*lbf}
- NOTICE:
- Do not allow the anchor part of the front seat inner belt assembly to overlap the protruding parts of the front seat adjuster.

for Driver seat:
Connect the connectors and engage the 4 clamps.
 |
for Passenger seat:
Connect the connector and engage the 3 clamps.
| 8. INSTALL FRONT SEAT CUSHION SHIELD ASSEMBLY |
| 9. INSTALL SLIDE AND VERTICAL POWER SEAT SWITCH KNOB |
| 10. INSTALL RECLINING POWER SEAT SWITCH KNOB |
| 11. INSTALL FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY |
Place the seat in the cabin.
Connect the connectors under the seat.
Connect the cable to the negative (-) battery terminal.
Move the front seat assembly fully forward by operating the slide and vertical power seat switch knob.
- NOTICE:
- Check that the seat is locked.
Temporarily install the front side of the front seat assembly with the 2 bolts.

Move the front seat assembly fully forward by operating the slide and vertical power seat switch knob.
- NOTICE:
- Check that the seat is locked.
Temporarily install the rear side of the front seat assembly with the 2 bolts.
 |
Move the front seat assembly to the rearmost position by operating the slide and vertical power seat switch knob.
- NOTICE:
- Check that the seat is locked.
Fully tighten the 2 bolts on the front side of the front seat assembly in the order of the inner side bolt and then the outer side bolt.
- Torque:
- 37 N*m{377 kgf*cm, 27 ft.*lbf}
Move the front seat assembly fully forward by operating the slide and vertical power seat switch knob.
- NOTICE:
- Check that the seat is locked.
Fully tighten the 2 bolts on the rear side of the front seat assembly in the order of the inner side bolt and then the outer side bolt.
- Torque:
- 37 N*m{377 kgf*cm, 27 ft.*lbf}
| 12. INSTALL INNER SEAT TRACK BRACKET COVER |
Slide the inner seat track bracket cover along the seat rail toward the front of the vehicle. Engage claw A to the seat rail.

Push the inner seat track bracket cover to engage claw B.
| 13. INSTALL SEAT TRACK COVER |
Slide the seat track cover along the seat rail toward the front of the vehicle. Engage claw A to the seat rail.
 |
Push the seat track cover to engage claw B.
| 14. INSTALL FRONT SEAT HEADREST ASSEMBLY |
| 15. CHECK SRS WARNING LIGHT |
Inspect the SRS warning light (CAMRY_ACV40 RM000000XFD07AX.html).
| 16. INSPECT FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY |
Check the power seat operation.
Check the seat heater operation (with seat heater system).
Turn the ignition switch on (IG).
Turn the seat heater switch ON.
Wait 5 minutes or more and confirm that the seat surface becomes warm.
