  1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

  2. REMOVE SHIFT LEVER KNOB SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Automatic Transaxle)

  3. REMOVE SHIFT LEVER KNOB SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Manual Transaxle)

  4. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL GARNISH

  5. REMOVE NO. 2 INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL GARNISH

  6. REMOVE FLOOR SHIFT POSITION INDICATOR HOUSING SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Automatic Transaxle)

  7. REMOVE UPPER CONSOLE PANEL (for Manual Transaxle)

  8. REMOVE UPPER REAR CONSOLE PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Manual Transaxle)

  9. REMOVE UPPER REAR CONSOLE PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Automatic Transaxle)

  10. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH (for Automatic Air Conditioning System)

  11. REMOVE COWL SIDE TRIM SUB-ASSEMBLY LH (for Automatic Air Conditioning System)

  12. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH (for Automatic Air Conditioning System)

  15. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL NO. 2 UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Automatic Air Conditioning System)

  16. REMOVE LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Automatic Air Conditioning System)

  17. REMOVE LOWER INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL CENTER SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Automatic Air Conditioning System)

  18. REMOVE CONSOLE BOX POCKET (for Automatic Air Conditioning System)

  19. REMOVE CONSOLE BOX CARPET (for Automatic Air Conditioning System)

  20. REMOVE CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY (for Automatic Air Conditioning System)

  21. REMOVE NO. 2 CONSOLE BOX INSERT FRONT (for Automatic Air Conditioning System)

  22. REMOVE NO. 1 CONSOLE BOX INSERT FRONT (for Automatic Air Conditioning System)

  23. REMOVE NO. 1 CONSOLE BOX DUCT (for Automatic Air Conditioning System)

  24. REMOVE YAW RATE AND ACCELERATION SENSOR

Yaw Rate And Acceleration Sensor (W/ Vsc) -- Removal



1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL


2. REMOVE SHIFT LEVER KNOB SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Automatic Transaxle)

  1. Turn the shift lever knob counterclockwise and remove the shift lever knob sub-assembly.



3. REMOVE SHIFT LEVER KNOB SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Manual Transaxle)


    Camry. Acv40 Gsv40

  1. Turn the shift lever knob counterclockwise and remove the shift lever knob sub-assembly.



4. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL GARNISH


    Camry. Acv40 Gsv40

  1. Disengage the 2 clips and remove the No. 1 instrument cluster finish panel garnish.



5. REMOVE NO. 2 INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL GARNISH


    Camry. Acv40 Gsv40

  1. Disengage the 2 clips and remove the No. 2 instrument cluster finish panel garnish.



6. REMOVE FLOOR SHIFT POSITION INDICATOR HOUSING SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Automatic Transaxle)

  1. Disengage the 6 claws and the 3 clips, and then remove the floor shift position indicator housing sub-assembly.

  1. with Seat Heater System:

    1. Disconnect each connector.



7. REMOVE UPPER CONSOLE PANEL (for Manual Transaxle)

  1. Open the lid of the upper console panel.

  1. Apply protective tape to the area shown in the illustration.

  1. Using a moulding remover, disengage the 2 claws and the 5 clips, and then remove the upper console panel as shown in the illustration.



8. REMOVE UPPER REAR CONSOLE PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Manual Transaxle)

  1. Disengage the 3 claws and the 5 clips, and remove the upper console rear panel sub-assembly.



9. REMOVE UPPER REAR CONSOLE PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Automatic Transaxle)


    Camry. Acv40 Gsv40.Brake Control.Anti-Lock Brake System.Yaw Rate And Acceleration Sensor (W/ Vsc) Removal

  1. Disengage the 3 claws and the 5 clips.

  1. Disengage the clamp.

  1. Disconnect the connector and remove the upper console rear panel sub-assembly.



10. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH (for Automatic Air Conditioning System)

  1. Disengage the 7 claws and 3 clips, and remove the front door scuff plate LH.



11. REMOVE COWL SIDE TRIM SUB-ASSEMBLY LH (for Automatic Air Conditioning System)


    Camry. Acv40 Gsv40.Brake Control.Anti-Lock Brake System.Yaw Rate And Acceleration Sensor (W/ Vsc) Removal

  1. Remove the cowl side trim clip.

  1. Disengage the 2 clips and remove the cowl side trim sub-assembly LH.



12. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH (for Automatic Air Conditioning System)
HINT:
Use the same procedures for the RH side and the LH side.


13. REMOVE COWL SIDE TRIM SUB-ASSEMBLY RH (for Automatic Air Conditioning System)


14. REMOVE LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL LH (for Automatic Air Conditioning System)


    Camry. Acv40 Gsv40.Brake Control.Anti-Lock Brake System.Yaw Rate And Acceleration Sensor (W/ Vsc) Removal

  1. Remove the bolt <A> and the screw <B>.

  1. Disengage the 2 claws and the DLC3.

  1. Disconnect the hood lock control cable assembly.

  1. Disengage the claw and the 4 clips.

  1. Remove the air hose, disconnect the connector, and then remove the lower instrument panel finish panel LH.



15. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL NO. 2 UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Automatic Air Conditioning System)

  1. Disengage the 4 claws.

  1. Disengage the 2 guides and remove the No. 2 under cover sub-assembly.



16. REMOVE LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Automatic Air Conditioning System)

  1. Remove the bolt <A>.

  1. Remove the 4 screws <B>.

  1. Disengage the 3 claws and 3 clips, and then remove the lower instrument panel sub-assembly.



17. REMOVE LOWER INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL CENTER SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Automatic Air Conditioning System)


18. REMOVE CONSOLE BOX POCKET (for Automatic Air Conditioning System)

  1. Remove the console box pocket.



19. REMOVE CONSOLE BOX CARPET (for Automatic Air Conditioning System)

  1. Remove the console box carpet.



20. REMOVE CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY (for Automatic Air Conditioning System)

  1. Remove the 2 screws.



    Camry. Acv40 Gsv40

  1. Remove the 2 bolts and the console box assembly.



21. REMOVE NO. 2 CONSOLE BOX INSERT FRONT (for Automatic Air Conditioning System)


    Camry. Acv40 Gsv40.Brake Control.Anti-Lock Brake System.Yaw Rate And Acceleration Sensor (W/ Vsc) Removal

  1. Remove the 3 screws <F>.

  1. Disengage the clip and remove the No. 2 console box insert front.



22. REMOVE NO. 1 CONSOLE BOX INSERT FRONT (for Automatic Air Conditioning System)


    Camry. Acv40 Gsv40.Brake Control.Anti-Lock Brake System.Yaw Rate And Acceleration Sensor (W/ Vsc) Removal

  1. Remove the 3 screws <F>.

  1. Disengage the clip and remove the No. 1 console box insert front.



23. REMOVE NO. 1 CONSOLE BOX DUCT (for Automatic Air Conditioning System)


    Camry. Acv40 Gsv40

  1. Remove the clip and No. 1 console box duct.



24. REMOVE YAW RATE AND ACCELERATION SENSOR


    Camry. Acv40 Gsv40

  1. Disconnect the yaw rate and acceleration sensor connector.

  1. Remove the 2 bolts and yaw rate and acceleration sensor.

    NOTICE:
    Do not remove the yaw rate and acceleration sensor from the bracket.
