  1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

  2. REMOVE NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY (for LHD)

  3. REMOVE GLOVE COMPARTMENT DOOR ASSEMBLY (for LHD)

  4. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY (for RHD)

  5. REMOVE LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL (w/o Knee Airbag) (for RHD)

  6. REMOVE DRIVER SIDE KNEE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY (w/ Knee Airbag) (for RHD)

  7. REMOVE WINDSHIELD WIPER RELAY ASSEMBLY (for LHD)

  8. REMOVE WINDSHIELD WIPER RELAY ASSEMBLY (for RHD)

Wiper Ecu (W/ Rain Sensor) -- Removal



1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
NOTICE:
  1. w/ Navigation System (for HDD):
    After the ignition switch is turned off, the HDD navigation system requires approximately a minute to record various types of memory and settings. As a result, after turning the ignition switch off, wait a minute or more before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.


2. REMOVE NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY (for LHD)

  1. Detach the 3 claws and remove the instrument panel under cover.



3. REMOVE GLOVE COMPARTMENT DOOR ASSEMBLY (for LHD)

  1. Open the glove compartment door.

  1. Detach the claw from the glove compartment door stopper.

  1. While pushing in the sides of the glove compartment door in the direction indicated by the arrows in the illustration, open the door to release it from the 2 stoppers.

  1. Open the door as much as possible.

  1. Pull the glove compartment door toward the rear of the vehicle to detach the 2 hinges and remove the glove compartment door.



4. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY (for RHD)

  1. Remove the 2 screws.

  1. Detach the 3 claws and remove the cover.



5. REMOVE LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL (w/o Knee Airbag) (for RHD)

  1. Remove the 2 screws.

  1. Using a screwdriver, detach the 8 claws and remove the lower instrument panel finish panel.

    HINT:
    Tape the screwdriver tip before use.


6. REMOVE DRIVER SIDE KNEE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY (w/ Knee Airbag) (for RHD)

  1. Remove the 4 bolts and driver side knee airbag.

  1. Disconnect the connector.

    NOTICE:
    When handling the airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.


7. REMOVE WINDSHIELD WIPER RELAY ASSEMBLY (for LHD)

  1. Disconnect the connector.

  1. Remove the bolt and wiper relay.



8. REMOVE WINDSHIELD WIPER RELAY ASSEMBLY (for RHD)

  1. Disconnect the connector.

  1. Remove the bolt and wiper relay.
